As winter begins, many people may notice changes in their mood or energy levels. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression triggered by seasonal changes, and it’s important to know that help is available. Here are some common signs and symptoms of SAD: •Persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or emptiness •Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed •Fatigue, low energy, and difficulty concentrating •Oversleeping or changes in appetite (especially carb cravings) •Irritability, agitation, or social withdrawal Treatment options can make a big difference. Many people find relief with: •Light therapy: A specific type of light treatment proven to reduce SAD symptoms. •Antidepressant medications: Can be effective, either alone or combined with other treatments. •Talk therapy: Helps address underlying thoughts and emotions. •Vitamin D supplements: May also improve symptoms for some. If you or someone you know is struggling, it’s important to reach out to a loved one or a doctor for support. You are not alone, and help is available. Let’s prioritize mental health this winter and care for ourselves and those around us. #MentalHealthAwareness #SeasonalAffectiveDisorder #WinterWellness #ConstructionCares #ZeroSuicide

Coping with Grief During the Holidays The holiday season can be a time of joy for many, but for those grieving, it can also bring added challenges. It’s important to acknowledge your feelings and care for yourself as you navigate this time of year. Here are a few reminders for managing grief during the holidays: •Talk about your grief. It’s okay to share how you’re feeling—you’re allowed to grieve and express your emotions. •Set boundaries. Take the time you need for yourself without guilt. •Honor their memory. Create a new tradition or activity that celebrates your loved one. •Set realistic expectations. It’s okay to feel a range of emotions, including sadness, anger, or even joy. •Practice self-care. Regularly check in with yourself and meet your needs. Remember, you are not alone in your grief, and it’s okay to seek support. Whether it’s through a trusted friend, loved one, or a professional, reaching out can make a difference. If you or someone you know is struggling, please don’t hesitate to ask for help. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other this holiday season. #SelfCare #MentalHealthMatters #HolidayWellness #ConstructionCares #ZeroSuicide #MentalHealth #HolidayGrief #SelfCare #SupportMatters "
