A new checkbox on WordPress's log in screen requires users to agree that "Pineapple is delicious on pizza" before being able to log into the website. Apparently, it was put there by CEO and Houston-native Matt Mullenweg. But it's more than just a harmless troll. Some users say its a way of getting around a court order. A prominent Houston real estate company used artificial intelligence to select its next investment, a 32-acre industrial development northwest of the city. Pagewood, a real estate developer, used AI to select its new project, named Mosielee Commerce Park. It will be part of two speculative warehouses that will total 429,698 square feet, according to Pagewood. The project will be the firm's second industrial project and will be located by State Highway 249, inside of Beltway 8. The buildings are expected to finish construction by the Fall of 2025. https://lnkd.in/gewpc_SS

StubHub released numbers comparing ticket sales from the 2023 college football regular season to 2024 (post-conference alignment) and while the percent growth is astronomical, I'm actually not surprised by SMU topped the list with the largest jump in ticket sales. People outside of DFW forget that SMU was once a powerhouse program and those fans have waited a long time for their team to be relevant after the death penalty forced the Mustangs to cancel two seasons of football. I spoke with StubHub about the ticket sale growth numbers it released from this year's college football season 👇
Wait, SMU football's ticket sales increased by how much?!

For decades, different groups have tried to get Texas on board with the idea of high speed rail in the Lone Star State. Each time, the proposals have gone nowhere, partially thanks to Texas-based Southwest Airlines. "They are terrified of the competition and will do anything within their power to stop the project," Bob Neely, executive director of the Texas High-Speed Rail Authority, said in 1991. Andrea Guzman explores how Southwest Airlines, who stands to gain from Texans limited transportation options, has opposed high speed rail in Texas. #transportation #airlines #highspeedrail #rail https://lnkd.in/gwSGk2BQ
