Select Auto Import is making excellent progress! This new 17,409 SF dealership in Alexandria, VA, will offer a full range of automotive sales and services, along with dedicated office spaces. Currently, the elevator installation is underway, rough-in plumbing continues as we prepare for final connections and fixturing. Wall and floor finishes are being installed as we prepare for the final push to completion. Outdoors, phase 2 is advancing with site concrete work and asphalt paving. We’re nearing completion on the Ritchie Highway Self Storage project in Pasadena, MD. Progress continues across both buildings, with turnover slated for Q1 2025. In the first building, a two-story, 65,500 SF CFMF structure, drywall installation is underway as we prepare for finishes in the lobbies and bathrooms. Meanwhile, in the second building, a single-story, 23,500 SF steel structure, work is progressing on overhead mechanical systems, sprinkler installation, and electrical rough-ins, with storage unit installation set to begin next week. Once finished, this Attman Holdings, LLC self-storage facility designed by Penney Design Group, LLC will feature two separate buildings housing 677 storage units, all accessible from ground level. The Ironwood at Waldorf Station, spearheaded by CCG Residential Construction, is progressing rapidly. Upon completion, this Class-A residential development in Waldorf, MD, will feature 302 luxury apartments across eight buildings. Residents will enjoy premium amenities, including a resort-style pool, an expansive clubhouse, co-working and social lounges, fitness facilities, vehicle charging stations, and a dog park with a pet spa. Currently drywall is being installed as well as masonry and siding for Building 1, framing is underway for Buildings 3 and 7, and the roofs are complete for Buildings 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 with MEP rough-ins going on in 2, 4, 5 & 6. Meet Wendy Wu - Technical Business Analyst and this month's Hard Hat Hang Up. Wendy joined the Chesapeake team after graduating with a degree in Information Science from University of Maryland. As a Technical Business Analyst, Wendy thrives on solving complex problems and adding value to the company. She describes her favorite part of the role, saying, “I love understanding different perspectives, identifying areas for improvement, and coming up with solutions that really make a difference.” When asked about the skills essential for success in her role, Wendy highlights strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and teamwork abilities. She explains that her position involves connecting with diverse people, making it crucial to explain complex ideas clearly and effectively. Wendy notes that Chesapeake’s supportive culture eased her initial nerves about starting her first corporate job. She adds, “Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, always eager to help whenever I have questions or need guidance.” Outside of work, Wendy enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, discovering new places, and trying different foods. Exciting updates are happening at Passport BMW in Suitland, MD! This renovation project is transforming 50,000 SF of the dealership's 94,000 SF space. The steel structure is now complete, and the CMU work for the addition has finished. Interior renovations are in their final stages, with site work scheduled to start in early December. Our team is skilled at managing dealership operations and logistics, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the process. We understand the importance of minimizing disruptions to showrooms, F&I offices, parts, and service departments, while delivering seamless renovations and expansions. Most recently, we upgraded the Lower School playground with custom-designed wood fiber, boulders, site amenities, and plantings to foster outdoor play and exploration. In 2021, we completed the 67,000-square-foot Marlene & Stewart Greenebaum Middle School, a state-of-the-art facility that enhances the educational experience. In 2018, we delivered the Fader Innovation Center, a cutting-edge, open-concept space dedicated to robotics, hands-on training, and STEM education.
