Our team has been busy serving others this holiday season! 🎄🦃✨ For over 20 years, the Gold Strike Casino Resort team has partnered with Sacred Heart, sponsoring and volunteering for various activities, including angel tree sponsors and turkey deliveries. We were excited to roll up our sleeves once again to support this group! Sacred Heart Communications and Grants Manager Laura Grisham shared her perspective, “Thanksgiving and the Christmas season are meant to be joyful times, but for those living in poverty, the holidays are times of great stress, financial hardship and worry. Providing holiday food boxes is just one way we ease the burdens of those who are struggling financially. This year we have distributed 1,825 Thanksgiving boxes across northern Mississippi. It wouldn't be possible without the help of our generous donors and volunteers. We were so blessed to have Gold Strike support our efforts and a team of their employees to help us with our Thanksgiving distributions in Tunica's Old Sub recently. Many hands make light the work!” We were also proud to assist with a Christmas Tree Sale benefiting the Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center in Southaven, MS! Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center's mission is to respond to child abuse with a supportive team approach that reduces trauma through advocacy, treatment, education and prevention. We are grateful for our #goodasgold community!

Earlier this month, our cultural tourism team was recognized by the PRSA Tulsa Chapter at their annual Silver Link Awards! 👏🏆✨ This year, the team was awarded three merit awards for their excellent work in community relations, marketing and public relations. Cherokee Nation Entertainment was the presenting sponsor at this year’s event, which recognizes exemplary public relations achievements in various categories – as determined by PRSA chapters from neighboring states – as well as honors public relations professionals for outstanding contributions to the profession. Our cultural tourism team plays a vital role in economic development and cultural preservation through promoting more than 15 sites – including museums, retail locations, a research center and a welcome center – in addition to supporting cultural and community events throughout the year across Cherokee Nation.
