Convener of Purpose Leaders, Bestselling Author & Speaker on Purpose & Leadership, Cofounder of The Purpose Summit and Heartcount™

Tis the season for giving! We are so grateful for all of those who supported our Beds for Kids activity at The Purpose Summit in 2024, providing hundreds of welcome home baskets of supplies to families in first time homes. For PS25, we are significantly raising the bar with the addition of “Impact Monday” a day of coordinated community impact activities to kick off The Purpose Summit, which will include Beds for Kids, Samaritan’s Feet, Least of These Carolinas, and others TBA. We have officially kicked off fundraising for Impact Monday! Your donation will help us reach our 2025 goal of providing thousands of shoes to shoeless children, beds and home supplies for kids, and personal items for foster kids transitioning into new families and homes. A portion of every ticket sold to The Purpose Summit will also support Impact Monday. Tax-deductible donations can now be made to the Purpose Summit Giving Fund through Helping Hands…https://lnkd.in/ebyjXgPx Thank you for your support in helping us positively impact the lives of children and families that you may never meet, and being a force for good in the world. We are grateful for you!

  • CEOs how do you answer the question, "Are you building a team that serves each other, or one that serves themselves?"

The Service Paradox: Leadership's Ultimate Force Multiplier The greatest leaders I've encountered share one extraordinary trait: they serve before they lead. True leadership isn't about power - it's about empowerment. When teams embrace unconditional service, something remarkable happens: hierarchies dissolve, silos crumble, and innovation flourishes. Think about it: What transforms good teams into legendary ones? It's not just talent or strategy. It's the willingness to put others' success before personal glory. I've observed that high-performance cultures are built on a foundation of mutual service: -Senior members mentor without expecting recognition -Colleagues support each other through challenges without keeping score -Teams celebrate collective wins rather than individual achievements Ask yourself: Are you building a team that serves each other, or one that serves themselves?

If your feed is like mine, it’s full of people emphasizing how critical communication is to great leadership. But what does great communication look like for CEOs at scale? Here’s my blueprint: → Pick a Few Key Themes: Decide on 3–5 key themes you want employees to know by heart. These could include your company’s mission, this year’s top goals, or a big-picture vision for the future. Repeat them often and in multiple formats. → Set a Regular Rhythm: All-hands meetings? Weekly emails? Quick video updates? Whatever tools you use, consistency is key. Pick a cadence and stick to it. Employees will appreciate knowing when and where to expect updates from you. → Leverage Your Middle Managers (CRITICAL): Your middle managers are your most important communication channel. They’re the ones who amplify your message across the organization. Make sure they’re aligned and clear on what you want communicated. → Be Seen and Heard: Never underestimate the impact of simply showing up. Walk the floor, join team meetings, or host casual Q&A sessions. Your presence—whether in-person or virtual—demonstrates that you’re approachable, engaged, and invested in the team. → Repetition is Key: As Marc Cenedella wisely said, “Until they start making jokes about how often you repeat it, they haven’t internalized it.” Don’t worry about sounding like a broken record—repetition is how messages stick. → Try This: Take 10 minutes this week to draft a quick update for your team. Focus on: A key goal you want to reinforce. A milestone worth celebrating. One clear message about where the company is heading. Good communication in the CEO role requires repetition. People need to hear a message many times before it truly sinks in.
