  • On Saturday, December 14, we hosted our annual community Christmas celebration at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Thanks to the incredible support of the Notre Dame Club of Minnesota, we welcomed over 900 guests to this festive event. Toys for Tots generously provided gifts for nearly 500 children in our community. The entertainment featured performances by the band Alma Andina, our very own Les Sabies Cantores choir directed by Vladimir Garrido, the vibrant Mexico Azteca dance group, and the lively energy of Los Chinelos dancers. All of this was masterfully brought together by our dynamic friend and steadfast supporter, Antonio Mena. As we commemorate our 50th anniversary, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Panadería San Miguel, La Tortilla Food Truck, the U.S. Marine Corps, the staff at the Minneapolis Convention Center, and especially to our long-standing partners, the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Minnesota, for sponsoring this Christmas celebration for over 20 years.

  • 🌟 What a Week for Intergenerational Impact! 🌟 Last week, our Executive Director, Xavier Vazquez, experienced an inspiring intergenerational journey filled with meaningful conversations and connections! 🧡 🎤 Tuesday: Xavier moderated a powerful panel at the Minnesota Leadership Council on Aging's 2024 Summit 🌟. The discussion explored: 👩👦👦 What it means to be a caregiver 🌍 Nuances of caregiving across cultural communities 🤝 How Minnesota can maximize community strengths and address challenges 💡 It was an enlightening conversation that highlighted the beauty and complexity of caregiving. 👨👧👦 Wednesday: Xavier participated in the 2024 Little Moments Count Annual Conference as a panelist in their first-ever Fathers Panel! 🙌 🏆 Over 500 professionals, dads, grandfathers, and parents joined in-person at MPR and Northwoods Technical College (and virtually) to discuss the crucial role of fathers in the first 1,000 days of a child’s life. 🌟 The energy, passion, and knowledge in the room were unmatched, leaving everyone inspired to continue supporting both the youngest and oldest members of our community. Thank you to everyone who made these events possible! Together, we are shaping brighter futures across generations. 💪✨ #CaregivingMatters #FathersPanel #IntergenerationalImpact #CommunityConnections #MinnesotaLeadership #LittleMomentsCount

  • We learned about the beginning of the civil rights movement of the 1960's in the United States and how that influenced the anti-racist movements of today across the globe. We finished our session by creating a zine on the topic of anti-racism in latine communities.
