On behalf of Dr. Silvanus J. Udoka at Clark Atlanta University School of Business - congratulations to our Southeast Regional Center for Entrepreneurship @ CAU for the work they are doing with Amanda Spann and The App Accelerator! Thanks to Robert F. Smith for the shoutout and as always thanks to Howard University & PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship for the support and partnership. #cauproud #entrepreneurship #pncbank
Building a tech-driven business can be daunting, especially for non-technical founders. Tech entrepreneur Amanda Spann recognized this challenge and created The App Accelerator to help Black entrepreneurs transform their app ideas into reality. Her mission is critical—without the right knowledge and direction, Black entrepreneurs can lose up to $50,000 navigating the complex world of app development. The App Accelerator is more than a resource—it’s a bridge to opportunity. By partnering with #HBCU Clark Atlanta University and PNC Bank, Spann offers a low-cost program designed to equip non-technical founders with the tools they need to succeed. She believes HBCUs play a vital role in preparing entrepreneurs for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, ensuring they are not only participants but leaders in the tech space. Black entrepreneurs often face systemic barriers, like limited access to capital and fewer opportunities in technology-driven industries. Initiatives like Spann’s help level the playing field by providing education, mentorship and resources to empower founders to scale their businesses and innovate. This work aligns with my own passion for expanding #STEM education and supporting Black entrepreneurs. Through programs like Southern Communities Initiative (SCI) and partnerships with HBCUs, we are opening doors for underrepresented talent in technology and entrepreneurship.

Collaboration and a fresh perspective often start with simply showing up and being curious about someone else’s world. The Clark Atlanta University School of Business marketing team recently visited us here at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business. We exchanged ideas, toured campus, and lost our sense of personal space as we squoze into elevators and Stinger buses together. Thank you, Clark Atlanta team. We're very much looking forward to visiting you in the spring.

🌟 Collaboration, Innovation, and Sustainability at Its Finest! 🌟 A few weeks ago, the Clark Atlanta University School of Business Social Media Team had the pleasure of visiting the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business Marketing and Communications Team, led by Director Maria Misbach. We engaged in a Canva training session, had lunch and engaged in insightful discussions with both teams, exchanging ideas and building connections. It was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate, learn, and be inspired by the innovative practices happening just a few miles away. At the end of our visit, we toured the The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design — the most environmentally advanced building in the Southeast, right in the heart of Georgia Tech. This building isn’t just sustainable—it’s regenerative: 🌿 Key Highlights: *200% net-positive energy and 15x more water than needed for operations annually. *Ultra-efficient foam flush toilets and waterless urinals. *Over 50% of materials sourced locally within 1,000 km. *80% more efficient than traditional buildings with only a 13% higher cost. And yes, it smells like freshly cut timber year-round! The passionate Georgia Tech students make the experience unforgettable! Thanks to Georgia Tech for their hospitality in making us feel welcome! #Sustainability #Collaboration #Innovation #ClarkAtlantaUniversity #GeorgiaTech #KendedaBuilding #SocialMedia #MarketingCommunications #GreenBuilding #CanvaTraining
