I reviewed my design case study for another three months.😒 After a successful completion of a 2weeks capstone project from my boot camp in July, I didn’t feel my best enough to post it neither on Behance, LinkedIn nor anywhere else, even though I had the best score for this project.🙈 I felt the need to refine my design to near perfection before sharing it. Even though my tutor Helen Chinweike, from CareerEx would always say, "Your work doesn’t have to be perfect—post it! The feedbacks, your grit, and growth mindset will help you improve. Just show up and share your progress." But no, I get coconut head!😅 I mean, every day I see all these sleek designs from others, and I think, "No, no, no, this is not good enough!" It felt intimidating. And yes I know, “All experts today were once amateurs and once messy.” It took me three whole months to revisit, review, research again, and refine my case study. Of course, with a long streak of self-doubt, procrastination, confusion, reluctance, and a sprinkle of imposter syndrome. Hmm.. But here we are, fam—I finally did it! (Posting in December—it’s never too late, right?☺️) We were tasked with creating a case study for an Event Management and Booking Mobile Application. I took it a step further by incorporating a unique feature that integrates social media systems, enhancing user social interaction and event engagement. As someone who isn’t so extroverted, I’ve always had picky problems attending events, even get-togethers—maybe out of fear of being seen/noticed.🤣(This is changing, by the way!). I’ve always wished I could connect with one or two people attending the same event beforehand. This would boost my confidence, help me know what to expect, decide what to wear, how to behave, and what not. (I know I’m not alone in this boat. My research confirmed it!😒). Hence, ‘EVENT PADI’—designed to transform the way people connect and engage with events. 🌟 While the app isn’t solely designed to address social challenges, it offers even broader benefits. Another key group of users who stand to gain are event planners and organizers. Having access to: 1. Streamlined communication and planning with teams and attendees in one place. 2. Ease of feedback collection, as users can share reviews in real-time via the in-app social feed. 3. Portfolio building, especially for upcoming event planners and organizers, as the platform can double as a media showcase. I’ve worked hard to make the presentation as detailed and comprehensive as possible. Special thanks to Kolawole Kayodeo for saving me so many times—I’m truly grateful🙏 This project might not be perfect, but I’m so proud of myself and the final result. Check out the case study here: https://lnkd.in/dUYJwswG I’d love to hear your feedback on this design as well. Here’s to 2024—it has been a great ride so far!🥂 #uiuxcasestudy #eventmanagementapp #uiuxdesigner #mobileapp
