As we step into this new year, I’m reflecting on how much has changed in my definition of success. In the past, success meant one thing: the outcome. But now, I know success is so much more: the learning, doing, and improving. It took me a long time to figure that out. When success is only based on the outcome, there’s a lot of self-imposed pressure. And a high risk for burnout. It wasn’t until I embraced learning, improving from my setbacks, and focusing on doing the most important things (versus everything) that I began to find real growth. The key was small, consistent steps—each one adding up to create the career path I’m proud of today. Whether you’re learning, improving, or adjusting, every action counts. It’s a wrap. How was this year for you? For me, it was a really phenomenal year. Careers changed Loyal and growing team Meaningful relationships Part of a community that’s transforming lives I’m taking a moment today to let the gratitude soak in And I know the journey doesn’t stop here. I’ve had enough trips around the sun to know there will be challenges (aka Life lessons) New opportunities (do you take them - or pass?) Friendships and relationships (all there to teach us something) But just for today, revel in what’s transpired for you this year. Think about the gains, not the gaps. Struggling with 'Why should we hire you?' in interviews? You’re not alone. It’s a simple question on the surface but one of the trickiest to master. This article breaks it down beautifully. The #1 reason people stumble on this question is the unrealistic expectations that a generic answer or a list of achievements will do the job. BUT… To stand out, you need: ✨ A strategy that aligns your unique strengths with the company’s needs. ✨ A clear, concise story that makes you unforgettable. ✨ Confidence to deliver your value with clarity. Yes, it’s challenging. But this question is also your chance to: ✅ Highlight the value only YOU can bring. ✅ Prove you’re the perfect fit for the role. ✅ Turn a tough question into a golden opportunity. Read the article to craft a standout answer—and if you want personalized support, DM me. Let’s make sure you’re ready to shine in your next interview. https://buff.ly/3VYdUWh #CareerGrowth #InterviewTips #ProfessionalDevelopment #JobSearch #Leadership #BePrepared

4 days left in 2024. Whoa. For the second year in a row, I had the incredible privilege of hearing @BrendonBurchard speak at an event I attended. Brendon is a legend, an inspiration, and one of the most intentional leaders I’ve encountered. If you’re not following him yet, you should. 🔥 This quote from his best-selling book ‘High-Performance Habits' has stayed with me all year: “Be more intentional about who you want to become.” As I reflect on this message—and how quickly this year has flown by—it’s a reminder: Time doesn’t wait. Blink, and it’s already the end of December. Another blink, and it’ll be December 2025. Use these last 4 days to think deeply about what’s next. Ask yourself: Where do I want to be in my career by this time next year? WHY is that so important? How do I want to show up differently as a leader? What’s the ONE big goal I’ve been putting off but am ready to tackle? It’s easy to get lost in the busyness of life and forget to reflect. But this is your moment to plan with purpose. To help you get started, here are some questions I use with my clients: 💎 What’s the BIG goal that, once achieved, will make everything else easier? 💎 What’s one small action you can take toward it before the year ends? 💎 What’s a character trait you want your team—or family—to describe you with by this time next year? 💎 What’s one thing you need to stop doing? Don’t wait for January 1st to start envisioning the version of yourself you want to become—both professionally and personally. Your 2025 begins NOW._ Send me a DM with ‘READY’ if you’re ready to take the first step. #CareerGrowth #BeIntentional #Leadership #GoalSetting #ProfessionalDevelopment

Merry Christmas! Entering the final week of 2024 with an attitude of gratitude. As I relax and reflect today, surrounded by people I love, I am so thankful for a really, really incredible year. One of BIG opportunities, plenty of challenges, lots of growth, and so much I am genuinely thankful for… My clients (you amazing people know who you are) My team (you amazing people know who you are) My family (especially my son’s complete life transformation in 2024) My friends (we’re all 29 and holding!) My health (getting ready for that half-marathon in Feb) My “girls” (yellow and black labs who bring humor every day) The list could go on… Gratitude is not just a feeling. It's a way of being. Gratitude humbles me when I think about the career and mindset transformations I've witnessed in those I've had the honor to guide. And it’s become the basis for one of my favorite sayings… Instead of “I have to” or “I need to” “I’m blessed to” :-) Here's to feeling blessed - especially today. 🙏 Merry Christmas! ✨ #AttitudeOfGratitude #Blessed #MerryChristmas

Small efforts over time = big results. This basketball analogy perfectly captures how career growth works. The first image? It’s the dream of a single giant leap—one big move that instantly gets you to the finish line. But unless you’re Damian Lillard, the defending 3-point content title champion… Progress for us average folk looks more like the second image: small, consistent bounces. One intentional conversation. One new skill practiced. One bold step out of your comfort zone. These small efforts compound over time, and that’s what gets you to the finish line. As the year ends, ask yourself: What’s one small bounce you can make this week to make progress toward one of your career goals? Remember, it’s not about the giant leaps—it’s about staying in the game. And moving forward…. Even during the holidays. Let me know the one bounce you want to take—or DM me if you’re ready to create your game plan for next year. Thanks to Jun Han Chin for this visual. #CareerGrowth #Consistency #Leadership #GoalSetting #ProfessionalDevelopment

I just did a poll on LinkedIn last week asking “Are you ready for a job change in 2025?” Already, 56% of people are answering “Yes, ASAP” So, when I saw this article, it really hit home. Because it challenges the idea that shaking up your entire career is the only way to move forward. The most common reason people feel stuck? Assuming progress requires a BIG, dramatic leap—like quitting your job or pivoting industries entirely. But here’s the truth: Growth doesn’t always demand a huge change. Sometimes it’s about subtle shifts: Clarifying your values. Focusing on what energizes you. Reframing how you see your current role. The ‘leap’ people crave is often found in small, intentional steps. Big leaps can be exciting, sure. But don’t underestimate the power of small, intentional steps that align your work with your purpose. As we close out the year, take a moment to reflect: What’s one thing you can shift or action you can take to feel more fulfilled in your career right now? Share your thoughts below—or send me a DM if you’d like to explore this further. https://buff.ly/4iSyUYu #CareerGrowth #Leadership #Clarity #PurposeDriven #ProfessionalDevelopment #KeepGoing

This image says it all – with 250+ resumes for each corporate job opening, the competition is fierce. And that’s an average. In some industries, the number of applications is >500! Only a few candidates get the interview, And only one secures the offer. If you’ve been one of the 249 applicants rejected for the job, you are probably left scratching your head, wondering… What the h*ll does it take? or What am I doing wrong? or Is anybody even looking at these applications??? It’s no surprise that success in today’s job market requires more than just qualifications. You may have already figured that piece out. What’s usually missing is the strategic positioning part. That’s what I see is a huge blind spot for most people. You’ve probably spent a good amount of time (and often a good amount of money) perfecting your resume. But do you have a career story defined? One that clearly and concisely connects your experience, strengths and values to the impact you make? If not, here’s the difference-maker: You need to learn how to brand yourself effectively and highlight the unique value you bring to the table. Maybe you’re reading that thinking “Yeah sure, Julie. Sounds great. But where do I even start?” If that’s you, or if you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure about what to do, let’s chat. You tell me what you want, and I’ll show you how to get there. Let’s make sure you’re not just another number that AI bots will screen out. Let’s make sure you’re the one who gets the hire! #CareerCoaching #JobSearch #BrandingTips #CareerGrowth #JobMarket #StandOut
