Yesterday Cambridge Innovation Institute had our company-wide quarterly meeting at the Sheraton Boston Needham hotel close to our headquarters in Needham, MA. In addition to providing updates on last quarter's results and a few strategic initiatives, we also had our annual "CIIgiving" 🦃 feast, conducted our annual 50/50 raffle 🎟️, and prepared over 💯 drawstring bags loaded with food and cold-weather supplies for use by Pine Street Inn for folks in #Boston with home scarcity. Special thanks to Jessica Cameron, Kristina Diomede, Scott Arrington, and others for all their help with the venue, preparations, and onsite logistics for the gathering! The proceeds of our 50/50 raffle this year went to The Salvation Army's Hurricane Relief Efforts, and I am delighted to share that our raffle winner opted to donate her winnings to further our contributions to this cause, bringing our total donation to $650. Special thanks to Christina Cunniff, Elizabeth Lemelin, and Shauna Samson for organizing and continuing such wonderful tradition at our company. It was truly special to have the opportunity to connect with many of our New England-based staff and bond over doing a valuable philanthropic activity. I am delighted that we can continue to support our local #community, and looking forward to more company-wide meetings and activities to come! Photo credit: Ann-Marie Handy and Jessica Cameron. Cambridge Innovation Institute just wrapped up another double header this week! Our Cambridge Healthtech Institute division kicked off the week Monday in Barcelona, Spain with our 16th Annual #PEGSEurope Summit. Despite some weather-related disruptions, with heavy rainstorms briefly closing the BCN airport on Monday due to flooding, the city and venue made for an excellent event. There was strong attendance, lots of #networking, informative sessions, and lots of business happening in the exhibit hall. Our Cambridge EnerTech division also had a #conference that started on Monday: our 14th Annual Battery Safety Summit, which took place in Alexandria, VA. The keynote and session presentations were also well-received at this event, the exhibit hall saw strong activity, and there was plenty of networking throughout the venue. Overall, both event teams should be proud of their successes, and hopefully everyone had a safe and smooth trip home!

Yesterday, several Cambridge Innovation Institute employees gathered in our Needham, MA headquarters to celebrate staff with October birthdays and work anniversaries. Although we continue to remain a #distributedteam, we are making it a priority to offer at least one in-person gathering per month for staff to #connect with each other. We're finding that our employees love it, and I enjoy the chance to leave my #homeoffice and connect face-to-face with colleagues. Thank you to everyone who joined us! Thanks for organizing this, Jessica Cameron, and special thanks to Ashley Parsons for the great dessert recommendation of Nothing Bundt Cakes! I am delighted to announce that Cambridge Innovation Institute (CII) has acquired the assets of GreyGreen Media-based in London, UK. This portfolio of #healthcare #conferences will be integrated into our Cambridge Healthtech Institute (CHI) division and will continue under the leadership of Jason Green, a co-founder of Grey Green Media (GGM) and now a Senior Conference Director at CHI. Jason was a joy to work with throughout the process- from our first conversation to the closing- and I am delighted to have him onboard with us going forward. The conferences that are part of this acquisition include Food as Medicine, the DTx Series, and the Future of Mental Healthcare. As many of you know, CII has been a leader in #lifescience conferences for over three decades, and we are excited to add these new conferences covering other essential aspects of healthcare to our expanding CHI portfolio. #Foodasmedicine, #digitaltherapeutics, and #mentalhealth solutions are important healthcare aspects that will benefit from additional advancement via opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration, so we look forward to continuing to cover these valuable areas. Please feel free to read our recent press release for more information on the acquisition: https://lnkd.in/eXuzfy2Y

Several of us at Cambridge Innovation Institute participated in the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's walk/run this past Saturday in #Boston to support #pediatric #cancer and #raredisease research, something we strongly value as an organization. It was fun to run with Eileen Thomas M. and William Roos and to socialize with colleagues Jessica Cameron, Julie Sullivan, and Shannon Kresge who walked. It was a perfect day for some outdoor exercise to support a great cause! Special thanks to Eileen and Jessica for organizing this, and looking forward to more #philanthropic outings like this in the future!

Our entire company gathered this week for our Annual Meeting. It was great to reflect on this past year, plan for the future, and honor numerous staff members. When we're so often working apart, there's nothing like being together in person! https://lnkd.in/eKcnv9Wq

Cambridge Innovation Institute had our 2-day Annual Meeting this week, and it was quite the event! During Day 1, our departments each did a "Start, Stop, Continue, More Of, Less Of" exercise, different training, and various #teambuilding activities, including egg drop and tower-building contests. We then had lunch together at The Westin Waltham Boston before doing a company-wide, philanthropic activity consisting of decorating and assembling skateboards for the Chill Foundation (https://www.chill.org/) that offers skateboards and inspiration to local kids in need. We have some super talented artists here! On Day 2, we convened at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, where we recognized dozens of staff with years of service, performance excellence, innovation, bedrock, and mentoring awards, plus a special "golden flip flops" award for our retiring founder & former CEO, who is well-known and regarded for his casual, yet professional approach. We also shared a recap of our prior fiscal year and an #outlook for the current year and beyond for each of major divisions: Cambridge Healthtech Institute, Cambridge EnerTech, Cambridge VIP: Venture, Innovation & Partnering, Barnett International, and ClinEco. It was a wonderful two days, full of connecting, recognition, fun, and appreciation! I am immensely proud of all our staff, and I am so glad that we had the chance to convene earlier this week to celebrate our sucesses, plan for the future, and spend time together. Special thanks to the Annual Meeting Planning Committee members Shauna Samson, SPHR, SHRM-CP, Christina Cunniff, Jessica Cameron, Deborah Shear, and Janette Harper-Mandile! Major photo kudos/credit to Richard Crimlisk and Ann-Marie Handy, and thanks to Peet Glowacki for collecting and organizing all the photos!

Yesterday, Cambridge Innovation Institute partnered with Building Impact to assemble care packages for The Wily Network. The Wily Network supports college students navigating college without a safety net, empowering them to succeed despite the absence of family or financial support. By providing dorm room essentials, treats and gift cards, we help Wily Scholars start the Fall semester focused on the task ahead without needing to worry about essentials. I'm glad we were able to spend a little time on something that can make such a significant impact on these students' lives, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals. At Cambridge Innovation Institute (CII), we believe in the value of learning and networking through face-to-face interactions at our various conferences and events. I also believe there is huge value in gathering to volunteer and support the communities in which we live and work. Since the beginning, commitment to volunteerism and philanthropy has been a cornerstone of our culture at CII, and I am immensely proud that we've continued this tradition and routinely strive to make a positive impact. We believe in the power of community and the responsibility we share to support one another. In fact, volunteering is now a key component of our company-wide meetings and will be going forward. I'm excited to share a few recent and upcoming examples here! 🎂 Celebrating Birthdays with Birthday Wishes: We recently had the joy of assembling birthday kits for children living in homeless shelters. Thanks to Birthday Wishes, these children experienced the magic of a birthday celebration, complete with all the joys a child should have on their special day. 🧥 Supporting Pine Street Inn: Recognizing the critical need for basic necessities among those facing home scarcity, our team came together to assemble care and clothing packages. It was a profound reminder of the impact we can have through simple acts of kindness. ✉️ Upcoming Event - Letters of Love: We are excited for our upcoming volunteer event next month, where we will write heartfelt letters to refugees in Ukraine. This collaboration with Letters of Love Global is a beautiful opportunity to spread hope and encouragement to those who need it most. A huge thank you to our incredible team and the wonderful organizations that make these volunteering activities possible! Let's keep making a difference, together.
