Giving Back, Looking Forward — Happy Holidays from Beardwood&Co. Firstly, we start by sharing our deep gratitude. This year has been full of exceptional experiences for our team: relationships with brilliant people who inspire us in our work and in our lives, juicy challenges that keep us excited and seeking new inspiration, tools, and technology, and opportunities that have allowed us to celebrate 20 years as Beardwood&Co. Thank you! Each year at Beardwood&Co. the holidays are a time to reflect on our values: Bravery, Anti-Blandness, Curiosity, and Humanity. They remind us of what we hope to cultivate within ourselves and how we aspire to show up in the world. Deepening our commitment to creating community holds the key to a brighter future. If you know us even a little bit, you may have heard the phrase “Illuminating Possiblities.” This informs the rigor and impact we bring to our work and our partnerships with clients, but it has an additional meaning for us as well — giving back to support the impactful work of organizations we hold near and dear. Thank you, Hon. Hakeem Jeffries (my congressman), Hon. Yvette D. Clarke, Hon. Nydia M. Velazquez, and Hon. Dan Goldman, for hosting today's Congressional Career Fair at City Tech. This year, I have attended many career/job fairs in NYC, and this was, by far, the best organized and most enjoyable. In particular, I had enjoyable conversations with representatives from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, NYC Department of Education (teacher training fellowship program), New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation, New York State Department of Civil Service, Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, CAMBA, Office of the New York City Comptroller, and Bridge Street Development Corp. My top three questions at each table were: 1. What open positions do you have? 2. What do you love the most about working at your organization? 3. What is your favorite swag you're giving away today? Wishing everyone the very best in their career and personal lives in 2025!
