Business Executives for National Security (BENS)

Last week, we hosted a listening session between MassBio members and the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology (NSCEB) regarding its forthcoming final report on the advancement of the U.S. domestic biotechnology industry at large, national security, and economic competitiveness. We're grateful for the opportunity to partner with Business Executives for National Security (BENS) to contribute to the Commission's vital work in biotechnology and its impact on U.S. national security. This session follows a similar visit in October from staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business to engage in direct conversation with members on the pros and cons of the federal SBIR/STTR seed funding programs, set to be renewed in September 2025, and how best the application and award processes can be ironed out in the new Congress.
