Many thanks to our friends at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Streetlife Ventures, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and Climate Tech Cities for hosting us yesterday evening at #ClimateTechDemoNight. Kate Henningsen shared our vision for transforming buildings from passive energy consumers into active assets within an adaptive grid: 🔌 We know that modifying the way buildings operate represents a huge opportunity to reduce global emissions 🔌 We also know that US electricity demand is on the rise after decades of stagnation, with more data centers, EVs, and increasing electrification all playing a role 🔌 The good news: there are simple steps that we can take today, without construction or major upfront investment, to measurably reduce emissions and start building towards a more responsive, adaptive grid 🔌 Can buildings become part of the solution – rather than 40% of the problem?
