We were proud to support our friends at Beds for Kids during the recent #GivingTuesdayCLT event. Their work across the greater Charlotte region makes a meaningful difference for families, and we’re honored to contribute to their mission. Since 2013, Broad River Retail has donated over $1,000,000 to nonprofits and charities that positively impact our communities! We’re continually inspired by how Beds for Kids helps families furnish life's best memories.

Mayra’s Journey: Growing as a Home Furnishings Expert Mayra Hernandez’s story shows what’s possible at Broad River Retail. After a career in health care, she was inspired by how BRR had changed her friends’ lives and decided to take a new path at our Ashley Store in Cary, NC. Starting as a Home Furnishing Associate, Mayra worked her way to Expert—a role that has given her greater autonomy, recognition, and rewards. “Seeing the results and how far I’ve come in so little time, it is so rewarding,” she says. For Mayra, the biggest reward is providing more for her 7-year-old daughter than she ever imagined. We love Mayra’s story and are grateful to have Memory Makers like her who choose to grow, succeed, and create memories with us.

What Happens When You Break All Your Bones? In early 2015, we faced our toughest challenge. A major system change didn’t go as planned, and it threw our entire operation into chaos. It felt like nothing was working. But here's the thing about being broken: it gives you the chance to rebuild stronger. We had to start fresh. New systems, new processes, even new people. It wasn’t easy. It was a period of creative destruction and reinvention—a moment that tested us but also defined us. That struggle became a gift. It forced us to reimagine how we work and grow as a team. It laid the foundation for the strength we operate with today. We hope our story inspires you to see challenges as opportunities to come back stronger. Find the Stories from the River episode in the comments!
