BrandSafway, a leading provider of access and specialty services to industrial, commercial and infrastructure markets, has announced that the company’s President and CEO Karl Fessenden has decided to retire at the end of 2024. Gabriel McCabe, currently serving as President, North America, will partner with Karl on a transition plan before assuming his new responsibilities as President and CEO on January 1, 2025. Gabriel has served BrandSafway for 10 years in several leadership roles, including President, North America, President, Industrial, Energy, and Commercial Division, President, International Division and President, Forming & Shoring. Prior to joining BrandSafway, he held global operational and management roles for more than 22 years at General Electric. While covering up the construction of its flagship store, Louis Vuitton has made a tourist attraction out of a 15-story stack of six Louis Vuitton trunks. Tourists and New Yorkers alike are stopping to look up. “That is crazy. I’ve never seen anything like that before,” said one visitor from Baltimore, M.D., who stopped to stare. 🚀 Some of our projects are out of this world! 🚀 After 25 trips into space, the Space Shuttle Endeavour is embarking on its final mission – and we’re honored to be a part of it. As the shuttle was lifted into vertical, ready-to-launch display at the future Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center at the California Science Center, our Los Angeles team provided the scaffolding and access solutions to help make it happen. May 3 is National Space Day, which celebrates the history of space exploration and the technological advancements that shape our daily lives. The Endeavour is an important part of that history, as the fifth and final operational shuttle built. It’s time to light the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree! 🎄 The 74-foot-tall Norway spruce from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, stands 43 feet in diameter, weighs 11 tons, and is approximately 70 years old. The first Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was erected in 1931, by local workers during the Depression, while Rockefeller Center was still being constructed. With more than 125 million visitors each year, the tree stands as a beacon of hope, celebration and unity. 🧝 Our SafwayAtlantic by BrandSafway team has been busier than Santa’s elves, working around the clock to provide the scaffolding and support structure that allows decorators to safely decorate the tree with approximately 50,000 multi-colored LED lights and a 900-lb. star top with three million crystals. In addition to the 28 scaffolders on site, the project was supported by our top-notch yard, trucking, engineering and safety teams. We are honored to have supported this beloved and highly recognized project for nearly 30 years. This year we installed an additional stairway for public use. Thank you to every team member who participated in this project, including Glenn McMenamy, Augie H. Aponte, Alexandru Gaina, Martin Hanley, Conal Molloy and Eric Guhring. The tree will be lit this evening during the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. 🌟 Watch live on NBC and Peacock tonight at 8:00 pm ET.
