  • What a year for cybersecurity. 🤯 TechCrunch just published a wrap-up of the most significant investigations of 2024, and it’s a revealing look at how deeply these issues touch everyday life. From telecoms wrestling with massive data breaches to automakers sharing your driving habits, these stories underscore one truth: when data moves, it impacts real people. There’s a clear thread weaving through each piece: human choices and vulnerabilities. Whether it’s a company deciding to pay off hackers or a secret operation run by intelligence agencies, technology isn’t acting on its own—people and policy are the driving forces. These stories are cautionary tales, but also reminders that focusing on transparency and accountability matters just as much as having the right security tools. TechCrunch’s roundup does a service by spotlighting the human side of every hack—and why it all matters to us, our teams, and our communities. • It’s another Workflow Wednesday at BlinkOps! In this workflow, we’re going to show you how to automate the process of securing user accounts when a suspicious login is detected. The Issue: A Splunk alert signaled unusual login attempts from an unfamiliar location, prompting our security team into immediate action. How It Was Solved: 🔍 Verification: The team validated the Indicators of Compromise (IOCs). 📂 Case Management: A new case was promptly created in Blink, with all details meticulously documented in ServiceNow. 🛡 Containment: Suspicious Okta user accounts were swiftly suspended to prevent further damage, and the SOC was promptly informed. ⚙️ Enrichment & Remediation: Leveraging VirusTotal and Recorded Future, the team enriched the IOCs, identified malicious elements, and rapidly neutralized the threat. The Result: By automating critical tasks—such as sending notifications, creating incident tickets, and streamlining user interactions—BlinkOps frees security teams to focus on more complex investigations. The outcome? Faster, more effective responses to evolving threats. Get the details here: https://lnkd.in/ey3CNWBP #WorkflowWednesday #cybersecurity

  • Using third-party tools can get you partway to automation, but to create a stable, scalable system, you need more than scripts and APIs. Think of a centralized platform that lets you integrate tools, adapt workflows as you grow, and avoid the hassle of broken scripts every time an API changes. Blink Ops keeps your automations strong, reliable, and ready for whatever’s next. ✨ 🔗 Get started today: https://bit.ly/4hBaBNY
