As the #construction, #development, and #realestate industries change so must we. It's the art of survival. To know how we need to change we must all understand the challenges the industry has faced, is facing and will face. It's equally important to understand those same factions of successes in the industry so we know what has, is and will work for organizations in ever changing markets. #constructionrecruiting #multifamilyrealestate

North Texans are going to have an opportunity to be, "Wastin' away again in Margaritaville" Buffet's concept ties in with a newly inked $6B project at Lake Texoma out by Denison. This one is going to be a spectacle for sure.
Lake Texoma found itself in the top of the headlines Friday, with the news that long-time North Texas developer, David Craig of Craig International have secured 3,100 acres of land on the Lake and will begin construction on a $6B resort in late 2024. That's right, Billion with a "B", and will include resort hotel, retail, restaurant, upscale marina, and 7,500 luxury single-family homes and multifamily homes including townhomes, condos, apartments and cottages. Parrot Heads will be excited to know that a $100M Margaritaville has been linked to the project as well. There has been nothing of this scale like this built in North Texas in my memory. The closest I can think of is the Sapphire Bay https://lnkd.in/gyGRazwP project in at Lake Ray Hubbard at the gateway to Rowlett. That is a spectacular development and it's only priced at $1B. I'm looking forward to seeing the plans for the Preston Harbor, north of town and even more excited to book a weekend getaway once it's complete. #northtexasrealestate #construction

Responsible organizations ascribe to a set of values and ethics often described as "Core Values" or "Ethos". Call it what you want, it's the backbone of an organization, the culture or character that bonds it's individuals with a foundation credibility and trustworthiness. As Blackwood embarks on it's first full year in business Bodie Nowak, Daniel Rohrs, and Zoe Reed sat down and collaborated to form the cultural foundation of Blackwood Partners. Our Ethos: · Transparency – The act of good, bad or indifferent information being shared upward, downward, and laterally in a way that allows all to see the “why” behind the words. o It is the practice of being open, honest, and clear when conveying information to others. It involves sharing relevant information, providing context, and avoiding hidden agendas or deceptive tactics. Overall, it fosters trust, reduces misunderstanding, and promotes accountability. · Accountability – The responsibility and obligation of individual team members to fulfill their roles, meet objectives, and deliver on commitments. It involves each team member being answerable for their actions, decisions, and contributions to the teams’ goals. o This is about individual team members taking ownership of their roles and commitments, communicating effectively, and working together to achieve shared goals. It is a fundamental aspect of successful teamwork and organizational effectiveness. · Hustle – A mindset that consists of effort, hard work, determination, and a proactive approach to achieving one’s goals. o It often involves going the extra mile, being resourceful, and taking advantage of opportunities to succeed in the competitive world of business. A relentless and dedicated approach to achieving success. · Respect – A fundamental concept related to treating others and oneself with kindness, consideration, and dignity. It involves recognizing the worth and value of individuals and their rights, opinions, and boundaries. o It promotes empathy, understanding, and positive interactions among individuals and plays a crucial role in building healthy relationships. #ethos #corevalues #construction

Don't let a good ole fashioned failure keep you down. It's the last failure that counts.
RISE AND GRIND Construction Family! Well, it's a new year and everyone has a fresh outlook and grand intentions. I know this because I couldn't find parking at my gym today. Not to dig on any one person, but if the gym turned into a taco truck in about 2 weeks, it would be phenomenally profitable. Which would elude to the fact that many would have failed their resolution, or at very least hit a bump in the road early into their efforts. I have a thought though. If we want to be endlessly motivated, failure is key. Our wins tend blur together but the losses...they linger like a jobless teenager on holiday break. Embrace the lingering feeling of despair, angst, and the outright pain of a loss. Whether is was minor or a brutal ass whippin, it can have the greatest impact on our future and our successes going forward. Take Sir James Dyson for example, who had 5,126 failed prototypes over the course of 15 years before creating the best-selling bag less vacuum cleaner and now has a net worth of $4.5 billion. Each prototype was a step closer to ultimate success. Had he thrown in the towel after prototype 5,125? That would have sucked...just not as good 😉. Blackwood Partners - Search & Recruiting, Daniel Rohrs, Zoe Reed, and I had our 2024 Kickoff and Q1 Planning meeting today and while we were pleased with our production in 2023, there was plenty we could have done better. That was reflected in the things that didn't go our way or that we outright failed at in the moment. Success should be the humbling result of failing for the last time. Isn't failure just the act of not trying again? To all those out there who understand what it means to pick yourself up, one more time, and try again. We salute you! Cheers to a Healthy and Prosperous New Year! #sucess #construction
