Bend. Don’t break. Whole family mental health care.

About us

Bend Health, Inc. is a national provider of pediatric mental health for kids, teens, young adults, and their families. We believe whole family mental health starts with a strong foundation of resilience to cope with whatever life blows your way. Our peer-reviewed results demonstrate that more than 80% of members enrolled in Bend feel better within 60 to 90 days. We are revolutionizing the treatment of mental health conditions for kids and teens through a novel data-driven technology platform and evidence-based collaborative care model that enables the first scalable and integrated care solution in mental health. Through coaching, therapy and reduced time to evaluation and treatment by licensed pediatric psychiatry experts, our approach achieves better outcomes and results in happier, healthier kids and teens, while ensuring stigma, cost, and logistics are no longer barriers to care. Our founding team has been in both technology and healthcare for nearly twenty years, as individual contributors, and executives, in both private practices and at companies including Oracle, Optum, UnitedHealth Group and Teladoc Health.

As we look to 2025, the behavioral health industry has some big opportunities—and challenges—ahead. I had the chance to share my perspective with Behavioral Health Business editor Laura Lovett week for a story on what leaders in our field are anticipating for the upcoming year. The promise of value-based care has been talked about for decades, but making it work requires real support from payers to reward outcomes, not just effort. Without that, we risk spending resources proving value that never gets recognized. At the same time, access, parity, and rising costs are pulling the system in opposite directions. These pressures raise serious questions about sustainability. The path forward isn’t easy, but I’m hopeful about what we can achieve through thoughtful collaboration across payers, providers, and policymakers. What are your predictions for the behavioral health industry next year? I’d love to hear your thoughts! • Feeling worried can be the pits. And if you’re like AXE, it can cause you actually to feel like there is a pit in your stomach! Experiencing worry or anxiety is natural, and it can help to warn us of dangers and motivate us to complete tasks. But it can become overwhelming and start to affect our daily lives. Help your child to notice unhelpful thoughts by spotting words like “never” or “always.” Then try flipping the thoughts together into more positive ones. For example if your child says, “I’ll never pass that test!” help them to flip the thought into something like, “I’m prepared and I will show up and do my best!”

  • Feeling stressed out lately? 👀 We get it! And in honor of #NationalStressFreeAwarenessMonth, our clinicians have put together a few tips for helping you to manage stress and find a little more chill in the winter months ahead. #1: Create routines. Starting and ending your day with a little intentionality can make a huge difference. Try your best to wake up and go to bed around the same time each day. And establish a relaxing evening ritual like reading, journaling, or taking a bath. #2: Get organized. Consider getting a family calendar or making to-do lists to better manage appointments and deadlines. Or if you’re having trouble focusing, consider decluttering your space. #3: Build out your support system. Having a safe, nurturing community which can include parents, siblings, friends, teachers, co-workers, and mental health professionals can make a huge difference in managing stress.
