Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium (ITC) is driving international economic partnerships through impactful trade missions. Earlier this year, a 10-day journey to Japan brought together 50 delegates, including local leaders like Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and private-sector representatives from companies like American Airlines and Becker & Poliakoff, P.A.. These connections fostered collaboration in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Yokohama, leading to high-paying jobs, a strengthened financial sector, and innovations in logistics. Beyond Japan, the ITC has made strides globally, facilitating a Sister Port Agreement in Colombia between PortMiami and the Port of Barranquilla and supporting Barranquilla’s decision to open a trade office in Miami. In South Africa, the ITC introduced the Graduate Institute of Financial Sciences to Florida-based organizations, paving the way for future partnerships in finance and trade. By fostering these international ties, the ITC is positioning Miami-Dade County as a leading global business hub. Space Florida closes out 2024 with a 187-project pipeline valued at $6.8 billion — an approximate 24% increase from the year before — underscoring its leadership in the global aerospace economy. Leveraging its unique structure and unmatched financial tools, Space Florida continues to set the standard for aerospace commerce. Florida’s aerospace dominance is evident in its record-breaking 90 launches in 2024, transporting over 1,300 payloads totaling 2.6 million pounds, leading America in the global integrated space-earth economy.    “Florida stands alone as the only state to designate space as an official mode of transportation, and its strategic infrastructure investment of nearly $565 million has driven an expected $4 billion in private capital — a threefold growth in just five years,” said Rob Long, president and CEO, Space Florida. “This past year highlights Florida’s commitment to driving the industry forward and finding creative ways to address key infrastructure challenges that must be addressed if we want to keep pace with industry growth." Last week, our President and CEO, Rodrick Miller, captivated the 2024 graduating class of Atlantis University with a deeply personal and profoundly inspiring commencement speech. While we are fortunate to witness his leadership daily, hearing him reflect on his journey and share the lessons that shaped his life, served as a powerful reminder of his unwavering vision, resilience, and commitment to building a life—and a legacy—that truly matters. Rodrick shared ten powerful lessons focused on building a meaningful life. He emphasized legacy, purpose, and the importance of finding what drives you to make a lasting impact on the world. Here are seven of those lessons: 1️⃣ Put People First: See individuals for who they are, not just for the value they can provide. Foster authenticity in your relationships, listen more than you speak, and always remember that people are your greatest asset. 2️⃣ Life Moves in Seasons: Every challenge and triumph is temporary. 3️⃣ Be Present: Life happens in the now. 4️⃣ Test Your Limits: Growth comes from challenges. You won't know what you're capable of until you push yourself. 5️⃣ Everyone is the CEO of Their Job: Own your role, take responsibility for your life, and strive for excellence daily. Take pride in your work, no matter how small the task. 6️⃣ Embrace Curiosity: Seek new experiences, perspectives, and ideas that challenge your beliefs.
