U.S. manufacturer of aluminum & steel machined investment castings for aerospace, defense & other commercial industries.
About us
Since 1983, Barron Industries has been a trusted partner to the world’s leading aerospace and defense companies which rely on Barron for our expertise in metals, lightweighting technologies and design for manufacturability of precision machined castings and safety-critical assemblies. Our award-winning investment casting process converts multi-part fabrications into less costly precision castings. Barron is registered to the AS9100 Aerospace Quality System and is certified by the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation (NADCAP) program for its in-house NDT and welding. Our newly acquired NIST 800-171 Certification ensures Barron’s preparedness in serving our aerospace and defense customers that need to maintain information security throughout their supply chains. Barron Industries has also received GE Aviation Certification as an approved supplier after undergoing five separate audits for its quality, investment casting, CNC machining welding and non-destructive testing processes. Barron produces critical aluminum precision components used in aircraft and defense technologies for both domestic and foreign markets including the forward canard section for a 2,000 lb. ordinance, fuel and HVAC systems, controls, seating, cargo handling and other applications. Using the Investment Casting process, Barron turns out high-strength ferrous and non-ferrous castings with fine detail and strict tolerance requirements, reducing the need for machining and other secondary finishing. Our vertically-integrated manufacturing systems offer complete single-source capability, significantly reducing cost and delivery time. Precision castings are machined, assembled, plated, painted, tested, part-marked, barcode-labeled, and securely packaged for shipping – with all processes handled in-house. Using our 3D printing techniques for rapid prototyping, Barron can deliver a highly-engineered casting in as little as ten days. We use more than 200 metal alloys.

Our incredible team truly embraced the spirit of the holidays this year by adopting two families through a local church. Together, we spread Christmas cheer by providing presents for 9 children and their mothers, ensuring they had gifts to open under the tree. Thank you to everyone who helped make a difference in the lives of these families. #christmasspirit #givingback #sharingthejoy

Barron Industries has joined #Oakland and #Michigan in efforts to bolster the state’s #defense and #aerospace sectors by accessing the $400 billion in U.S. defense technology opportunities. Barron sponsors several state and county industry events including the Defense Innovate and Integrate Summit (Di2) where industry leaders, government officials and defense experts came together to help businesses navigate the Department of Defense (DoD) market and win contracts. Michigan is home to 4,000 defense and 900 aerospace companies that contribute $30 billion to the state’s economy and provides 166,000 jobs for Michiganders. Oxford-based Barron Industries is a leading manufacturer of metal components used for mission-critical aerospace and defense applications. The company is planning to open a new Aerospace and Defense Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center to meet growing demand for its #military components. Making opening remarks at Di2 were County Executive Dave Coulter and Colonel John T. Gutierrez, Executive Director of the The Michigan Office of Defense and Aerospace Innovation Innovation (ODAI). “Oakland County is committed to opening doors for our technology businesses to explore new markets, and the Di2 Summit is an excellent opportunity for them to connect with the Department of Defense,” said Coulter. “This event will help our businesses understand how they can contribute to national security while driving economic growth right here at home.” “Michigan put the world on wheels and our industrial might helped win World War II,” said Gutierrez. “What we now need to do is to leverage this heritage to lead the defense and aerospace markets of tomorrow.” Other Di2 Summit sponsors include: University of Michigan - Economic Growth Institute: Collaborates with businesses to stimulate economic development, providing resources and expertise to support defense sector innovation. ERDCWERX: A collaborative innovation hub connecting the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center with industry and academia to accelerate technology development. NAMC(National Advanced Mobility Consortium): Fosters partnerships among industry, academia, and government to advance mobility technologies for defense applications. National Defense Industrial Association - (NDIA): The NDIA Michigan Chapter connects defense industry leaders, government representatives, and academic professionals in Michigan to support and advance U.S. defense initiatives. Automation Alley: Automation Alley is a nonprofit technology business association and Digital Transformation Insight Center focused on driving the growth and success of businesses in Michigan and beyond through innovation and automation. #defenseindustry #NationalSecurity #madeinmichigan #MichiganManufacturing #advancedmanufacturing

At Barron Industries, we are still celebrating #ManufacturingMonth! We hosted a group of high school juniors and seniors for #MfgDay24, and a few of them say they want to join our team after they graduate. We can't wait! Barron and other #Michigan manufacturers need to continue to attract young talent to fill the growing demand for #skilledworkers in the industry. Manufacturing Month highlights the diverse and rewarding career paths available in modern #manufacturing, such as engineering, metal casting, robotics, machining, and quality control. At Barron Industries, students had the unique opportunity to witness the entire process of manufacturing precision metal components for various industries including aerospace, defense, automotive, energy technology and more. The day began with a brief introduction and history of the family-owned #metalcasting company which has roots dating back to 1923. Over the years, the company has become known for its expertise in producing high-quality, complex parts made from advanced alloys. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability, Barron Industries continues to push the boundaries of modern manufacturing while maintaining strict quality standards. The plant tour started with a visit to the engineering department, where the process begins. Here, engineers use sophisticated CAD software to create 3D models of the metal components. Moving into the wax room, the students saw how the 3D designs are turned into physical patterns typically made of wax. These patterns are produced by injecting wax into tools or molds. Patterns can also be 3D printed for complex components or rapid prototypes used in advanced sectors like defense and aerospace. The students then visited the shell room where the patterns are dipped into a ceramic slurry, forming a shell around them. The ceramic shell is built up over several layers to create a durable mold. The pattern is then melted out of the mold, creating a cavity into which the metal is poured. The melted wax is captured and recycled, one of the many sustainable practices used in the investment casting process. Next came one of the most exciting parts of the tour - the melting and pouring of molten metal. The metal alloys were melted, heated in a furnace to more than 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit, and then poured into the ceramic molds. After cooling, the metal parts are removed from the molds and sent to the finishing, CNC machining, testing and quality control departments. The tour ended with a brief Q&A session, allowing students to ask questions about the process or potential careers in manufacturing. As a souvenir of the day, the students received a metal keychain which they helped cast. They attached the keychain patterns to a wax tree for dipping into the ceramic slurry. We hope their memento of Manufacturing Day will remind them to come back to Barron! #MfgDay24 #madeinamerica #investmentcasting #manufacturingcareers #aerospace #defense #spaceindustry #satellites
