Leadership transitions signal the growth and evolution of any organisation, and the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) is no exception. At the 72nd Annual General Meeting, Robert Sands officially passed the torch to Jackson Weech, who now assumes the role of president after serving as senior vice-president. During his tenure, Mr. Sands guided the organisation through record-breaking achievements in 2023, while candidly addressing the challenges that lie ahead. He urged stakeholders to focus on long-term improvements, including infrastructure development, sustainability, and elevating the guest experience. We extend our deepest appreciation to Mr. Sands for his impactful leadership and tireless dedication over the past two terms. Congratulations to Mr. Weech as he takes on this pivotal role, and to the newly elected members of the BHTA executive committee. Your leadership will undoubtedly steer the association toward continued success in strengthening The Bahamas’ standing in global tourism.
