Austin Transit Partnership and AECOM are all in on Austin Light Rail. This week, we launched a collaborative Delivery Partner contract that will help bring the first light rail transit system to Austin. This innovative delivery approach will help drive execution of this landmark project, which includes a 9.8-mile light rail system with 15 station stops constructed across the city core. By sharing in program risk, both of our teams are incentivized to work together in the community’s best interests to achieve successful outcomes. Upon completion, the Austin Light Rail is expected to link communities, enhance mobility, reduce congestion, and transform the landscape of Austin. We hope to accomplish this while also driving economic growth and uplifting local businesses, protecting Austin’s environment and unique culture, as well as promoting a sustainable future for generations of Austinites to come. A special thanks to our project partners: Ardmore Roderick CAS Consulting & Services, Inc. Parsons Corporation STV Turner & Townsend Our collaboration also comprises 28 disadvantaged-business enterprise (DBE) partners and six additional specialty firms, all working together with a shared mission to transform Austin by enhancing regional connectivity and bringing people together. Ben van Berkel is the founder of innovative global architecture and urban design practice UNStudio, part of the team contributing to Austin Light Rail.
