Atlanta Gas Light proudly joined the Thank Me Later Foundation's 4th annual Black Women Will Homecoming event. The event welcomed 190 Black female homeowners to secure their financial futures and create lasting legacies. The event provided a comprehensive platform for attendees to complete their wills, power of attorney documents and healthcare directives—all at no cost. As part of its focus on economic mobility, Atlanta Gas Light, an event sponsor, provided volunteers and joined over 100 legal experts to help participants complete estate planning documents and offered a list of energy assistance programs. “We are so thankful that Atlanta Gas Light joined the Thank Me Later Foundation’s mission to empower Black families for generations,” said Jini Thornton, CPA, Founder and Executive Director of the Foundation. To date, the event has completed over 486 wills and healthcare directives, planning to transfer more than $188 million in assets. By taking these vital steps, Atlanta Gas Light is helping to not only safeguarding individual futures but also strengthening the financial stability and resilience of our communities. Our teams often work alongside law enforcement officers and firefighters in cases where natural gas infrastructure is compromised, or service has or could be affected by emergency circumstances. As close partners of other first responders in the community, we truly appreciate the commitment and service of all who are the first to respond in times of need. Thank you for all that you do to ensure the safety of our communities! #NationalFirstRespondersDay
