We applaud New York Gov. Kathy Hochul for signing a bill that caps the out-of-pocket cost for a two-pack of epinephrine autoinjectors at $100 per year. The legislation, sponsored by Sen. Gustavo Rivera and Assemblymember Daniel O’Donnell, will improve the affordability of and access to life-saving epinephrine. Epinephrine is the first line defense for treatment of anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction that can be triggered by exposure to allergens in medicines, food, insect stings or bites, and latex. New York joins 4 other states with price caps on the cost of epinephrine autoinjectors.
