Quality managed in home care. Providing assistance with patience, compassion, and integrity.
About us
Assistance In Home Care began with a vision by owner, Ramona Streit. 10 years ago, her brother suffering with cancer, required in home care. Over time, the family realized the services received by Ramona’s brother was less than acceptable. This realization caused Ramona to believe she could provide a service that would preserve the dignity of her clients. Under her close supervision, she ensures services are monitored, managed and her clients are cared for. Ramona believes that, “Each day I wake up proud of care we offer to individuals who need assistance in their home”. We are a quality home care provider able to care for people of all ages who want to remain in the comfort of their homes and not burden their families. We strive to ensure home care services provided are nothing less than what we would want for ourselves or our family members. Assistance In Home Care has been caring for clients for over 10 years. We are proud to say we have assisted over 800 clients that include seniors, children, veterans, developmentally disabled and many short term recovery clients wanting to remain in the comfort of their homes. Our caregivers focus on assisting with daily activities while providing companionship to your loved ones. Assistance In Home Care hires experienced caregivers who have been trained to care for those with a wide range of conditions ranging from dementia to paralysis. Our caregivers provide the necessary assistance your loved ones need to live safely in the comfort of their own home. Below is a comparison of home health services and home care services. We consider ourselves partners in care in any circumstance, whether we are splitting time with a home health agency or other family members, we strive to keep our clients safe, happy and comfortable in their home.

Does the agency screen their caregivers using professional references, driving records, and Live Scan/fingerprinting? 3. Does the agency create a care plan to ensure quality of care for client? 4. Will the agency allow you to meet your caregiver prior to the start of services? 5. How does the agency ensure their employees receive ongoing training to improve their skills? 6. How are emergencies handled after normal business hours? 7. How does the agency monitor/supervise quality of care? 8. Caretakers play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and proper use of oxygen tanks for clients, including monitoring storage, checking for leaks, and tracking oxygen levels. Tips for helping maintain the oxygen tank: - Do not let oxygen containers get hot. Store them in a cool place where there is airflow. - Keep oxygen containers upfront. Make sure they do not fall over and get damaged. Try securing the tanks in a sturdy container or securing them with a rope or chain. - Watch for signs of oxygen leaks. If you hear a loud hissing from your container or it empties too fast, stay away from the container. Open windows right away and call the company that bought the oxygen system to your home. - Keep track of how much oxygen is in the tank so that a new tank can be reordered before it runs out. #CaregivingSkills #CaregiverEducation

Many people may be planning to travel and meet friends and family this holiday season. We think this is a good time to send a reminder that family caregivers can prevent infections and stay safe during this season by remembering to properly wash their hands. Here are some tips for properly washing your hands: - Wet hands with clean water and then apply soap. - Create a lather by rubbing your hands together. - Wash under your nails, between fingers and the backs of your hands, even around your wrist. - Wash your hands for least 20 seconds. One trick to making sure you do this is to sing or hum the happy birthday song twice. - If you don't have soap and water readily available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol to clean your hands. Sharing is caring! Send this out to family and friends to remind them that washing hands can help everyone prevent the spread of germs. #CleanHands #HygieneMatters #WashYourHands #CaregiverTips
