  • We were honored to celebrate the opening day of "Qi Baishi: Inspiration in Ink" with the Beijing Fine Art Academy at the Asian Art Museum yesterday! Blending expertly minimal brushwork with passages of abstraction, Qi Baishi changed the course of traditional Chinese painting. His ink paintings capture everyday scenes and familiar moments, evoking the essential beauty of nature and the joy of life’s simple pleasures. • Season one winner of Netflix's Next in Fashion, Minju Kim thoughtfully weaves enchanting stories into her designs. As part of her FW21 collection, this dress titled “Edward’s Christmas” envisions Edward Scissorhands’s first Christmas. Inspired by hanbok dressmaking techniques, Kim transformed large flat rectangular pieces into a voluminous shape by cinching the sides with straps. Adorned across this fairytale silhouette are playful garland cutouts in the shape of Korean moon jars—just like the ones currently on view in our collection galleries. ❄️ There's only ONE MONTH LEFT to see this festive outfit at "Hallyu! The Korean Wave." Gather your family and friends to experience the world of Korean pop culture for the Hallyu!-day season.
