About us
It is hard to find anyone whose lives have not been touched by Alzheimers in some way. We have established this initiative to show solidarity with those suffering trauma caused by dementia. Buying an artwork as a gift has a broad positive impact, the art is a gift in several ways - The Artist can show solidarity with the community of sufferers, families, carers and the Alzheimers society by donating the work, The buyer shows solidarity and empathy with the same community. Whether the gift is for the buyer themselves or for another someone will now own not only a beautiful artwork but a kindness. It’s all good. All proceeds go to Alzheimers Ireland - After the cost of processing the order is covered every cent goes to Alzheimers Ireland. The artists in the intiative receive nothing but the pleasure of knowing that their artwork was purchased and that their works have created an act of care. The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is the leading dementia-specific service provider in Ireland. The ASI works across the country in the heart of local communities, providing dementia-specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers. Our vision is an Ireland where people on the journey of dementia are valued, can realise their rights and exercise choice, and are living well where they choose. A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland advocates, empowers, and champions the rights of people living with dementia and their communities to quality support and services.

"Dementia, no matter what the journey is, is difficult enough. There shouldn’t be obstacles in the way of care and accessing services." – Paddy Crosbie, Dementia Carers Campaign Network (DCCN). As a proud member of the DCCN, Paddy Crosbie knows the barriers that families face every day when trying to support a loved one with dementia. As the #GE24 approaches, Paddy is lending his voice to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland’s campaign to break down those barriers. A Dementia Registry is one of six asks in The ASI’s General Election manifesto. We welcome funding in #Budget2025 to implement a National Dementia Registry, but this is just the beginning. It is vital that a Dementia Registry is in the next Programme for the Government as it is needed for mapping services and ensuring equitable access across all regions. The ASI released a report earlier this year, The Cost of Living While Caring: A brief report on the financial situation of family carers of people with dementia in Ireland, that highlighted how people affected by dementia are being hit particularly hard by the cost of living crisis. This publication results from a collaboration between The ASI and Family Carers Ireland (FCI). It follows an analysis of feedback provided by family carers of people with dementia surveyed as part of FCI’s The State of Caring 2022 report.
