We’re thrilled to unveil the design for the Oscar L. and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Wing at The Met! Designed by Mexican architect Frida Escobedo (Taller Frida Escobedo), the wing will provide a new world-class home for our extraordinary collection of 20th and 21st-century art. Set to open in 2030, the new wing will increase gallery space by nearly 50 percent and address important accessibility, infrastructure, and sustainability needs. Drawing inspiration from the Museum’s architectural legacy, diverse art holdings, and setting within Central Park, Escobedo’s design seamlessly blends tradition with modernity. The Met is the only museum in New York that can display 20th- and 21st-century works alongside art from different centuries and cultures, and these new galleries will bring the modern and contemporary collection into new dialogues with the rest of the Museum. The Tang Wing will feature iconic views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline year-round from indoor and outdoor spaces, with an expanded Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden on the fourth floor and a new outdoor terrace on the fifth floor. There is 'tis the season, and there is Arrangements Abroad's first-week-of-December extravaganza! We kicked it off with our annual two-day meetings, bringing together alumni travel partners for insightful discussions and collaboration, led by our dream sales team Greg, Kate, & Megan. And wrapped up last night with our traditional holiday party - a celebration of delicious food, great drinks, stunning NYC views, and most importantly, the best company: our travelers, partners, lecturers, and staff! A huge shoutout to our incredible team who orchestrated every detail, big and small — organizing, packing, schlepping, ordering, greeting—you name it. (very logistically elegant, very on-brand!).
