  • NCOs, the backbone of our Army, will lead the charge into the future of warfare… Non-Commissioned Officers are the backbone of our Army, and their role is pivotal in driving transformation across all three horizons of transformation: Transformation in Contact, Deliberate Transformation, and Concept-Driven Transformation. NCOs are the leaders who ensure our Soldiers are trained, equipped, and ready to integrate cutting-edge technologies while maintaining the discipline and standards that define our Army. As we navigate the challenges of continuous transformation, their influence will be critical in translating strategic visions into actionable outcomes on the ground. Across each horizon, NCOs provide the steady leadership and innovative thinking required to adapt to new tools and evolving threats. They are the key to turning technological advancements into war-winning capabilities. For a deeper dive into how NCOs are shaping the future of our force, check out this article: https://lnkd.in/gXM7MHJa. We are the best ground force in the world because we have the best Soldiers and Civilians! -BAH

  • Imagine going into a fight where the biggest threats aren't ones you can see.   That's the reality in the world of Electromagnetic Warfare (EW). Our Soldiers operated in contested environments where control, visibility, and detection within the electromagnetic spectrum can make or break a mission. But with new advances, we're able to better protect and empower our teams with tools that keep them aware, connected, and ahead of adversaries who would use these invisible domains against us. Hats off to the teams and partners at AFC pushing this tech forward.   We're not only advancing EW technology; we're also ensuring that every Soldier is ready to use it. Making the spectrum less abstract and more of an asset takes a combined effort. Our engineers, tech experts, and operators are coming together to create solutions right now.   Here's a good article for anyone interested in the future of EW and the impact it has on the battlefield: https://lnkd.in/gCCmkJJ5   I am proud of the AFC team and all they do to overcome challenges, no matter where the fight is. ~BAH

  • Seeing the full picture on the battlefield means connecting every domain-- air, land, sea, space and cyber-- into one cohesive system. That's where All-Domain Sensing comes in, and our AFC teammates are making this a reality. It's not just about tech; it's about giving Soldiers the ability to react quickly and confidently with information from every angle. Whether they're in a tactical vehicle, dismounted, or behind a screen, we're giving our teams what they need to make informed, immediate decisions.   This work isn't easy, and it wouldn't happen without a dedicated crew bringing different strengths to the table. They're making sensors more reliable, data sharing more fluid, and systems more integrated-- things that don’t happen overnight.   For those interested in where the future of sensing and multi-domain operations is heading, check out this insightful article: https://lnkd.in/e3y7v3BN   I could not be prouder of our teammates for making this possible and am excited to see how they keep us one step ahead. ~BAH

  • Artificial Intelligence is transforming the battlefield in ways we may not be able to predict. AFCs Artificial Intelligence Integration Center (AI2C) is at the forefront of this revolution! By integrating AI into our operations, we enhance our capabilities and ensure we stay ahead of potential adversaries. ~BH Some intriguing perspectives on AI integration are discussed in this article: https://lnkd.in/gDZZKEAu Learn more about AFCs AI2C on our website: https://lnkd.in/geZsxnWf

  • I recently published a piece with the NCO Journal on Continuous Transformation. It highlights a core truth: transformation isn’t a one-time effort but a relentless process. Today’s Army must constantly evolve to remain agile and ready for tomorrow's challenges. The article brings home a powerful message—our strength comes from Soldiers, NCOs, and leaders on the ground - those with 'muddy boots' who ensure progress isn’t just discussed but executed. Investing in training, adaptability, and the expertise of our people is critical to maintain this momentum. ~BH https://lnkd.in/gvvWthCj

  • The Army’s #1 priority is the Network. It does us no good to have advanced weapon systems and platforms if we can’t get our commanders the information they need to make timely decisions. We must think about what a data-centric network will look like in the future.    Command and control is the most important warfighting function because it is the Commander's Warfighting System. We need to give our commanders the ability to make more decisions, faster decisions, and better decisions. So, as we go down the path of determining what the next generation of command-and-control systems require we must make sure we are aiding commander’s decision making.    In our next generation C2 system, we must design adaptable C2 warfighting systems capable of rapid updates to improve functionality, capability, and capacity. This enables our leaders and warfighters to innovate in response to evolving operations and technology.   This article highlights some of the initiatives and process innovation the army is exploring to realize Next Gen. C2. ~JER https://lnkd.in/gyVrgRcn

  • As we keep transforming, one of our top priorities is building tech-talent within our formations. Our Soldier and Civilians are smart: the best in the world! We recognize that embracing technological advancements is key to maintaining our edge on the battlefield. The Army and AFC believes that by investing in our Soldiers’ and Civilians’ tech skills, we empower them to drive our mission forward with confidence and expertise. We flat-out NEED the best uniform and civilian tech-talent in our formations! AFC Human Capital efforts support the development of unique technology talents through flexible, modern and practical personnel management techniques. ~BH https://lnkd.in/g4SSZZeZ

  • As an Infantry officer growing up in the Army, when it came to battlefield effects we had to choose between precision and mass. UAVs are merging those two, now you can deliver mass with precision. This is going to be a characteristic of future conflict. It was great joining Hon. Doug Bush, ASA(ALT), and Dr. Cynthia Cook, Director of the Defense Industrial Initiatives Group and a Senior Fellow at CSIS, for a discussion on uncrewed aerial systems in the U.S. Army.  Check out our conversation here. ~JER https://lnkd.in/eKWJGvVp

  • AFC’s purpose is ensuring the US Army is the best Army at any point in time in the future. We have the best Army in the world right now, and we want that statement to be as true in 2027, 2030, 2040 and beyond. Another way to say that is, AFC is accountable for transforming the Army to ensure war-winning future readiness.   We live in a dangerous world during a period of unprecedented technological change. We are competing with determined adversaries. We can’t just out-spend them. We must out-innovate them.   The character of war is changing, and technology will punish unskilled commanders and untrained units. At the same time, the inverse is also true; whoever figures it out first and best will have a huge advantage on the battlefield.   As technology continues to advance, so too must our Army. ~ JER https://lnkd.in/ga4a3mAx
