As we look towards the December holidays, families receiving groceries from the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) continue to face increased uncertainty and financial strain, making it difficult to provide even the basic necessities, like food, for their families. You can help bring #HopeAgainstHunger to families in need by donating to AFAC. Your contribution will provide our families with holiday meals including chicken roasters, fresh produce, milk, eggs, bread and many other holiday items. With your support, we are able to meet the demand of serving over 4,000 families coming to AFAC each week through the holiday season. The annual #ScoutingforFood food drive was a huge success! The wait is almost over—#ScoutingforFood is just ONE day away! On Saturday, November 9, AFAC will once again partner with the Chain Bridge District of the National Capital Area Council, BSA for the largest annual #fooddrive benefitting AFAC. Since 1995, this community-wide effort has collected more than a million pounds of food for AFAC, helping us provide for neighbors in need. With AFAC now serving over 4,000 families each week—and expecting to serve more than 4,400 families during our annual Turkey Week distribution just before Thanksgiving—community support is more important than ever. If you received a notice from a local scouting troop on November 2, please join us in supporting local families by leaving a bag of non-perishable food by your front door tomorrow, November 9. Scouts will be out collecting donations to deliver to AFAC, making a direct impact on the lives of our neighbors in need this season. #afacfeeds #volunteer4afac #volunteer #Arlington
