Exciting news from the Alameda Unified School District! 🏗️✨ Representatives, students, and community members gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of several projects across the district, made possible by funding from Bond Measure B. From the modernization of Wood Middle School to upgrades at Alameda High School and Encinal Junior/Senior High School, these projects will provide improved educational, arts, and recreational opportunities for students and the community. Future modernizations at Frank Otis Elementary School are also in the works. With new construction, expanded facilities, and thoughtful redesigns, these projects are shaping the future of education in Alameda. 🌟🏫 Thank you to all who supported Measure B, showing commitment to our youth and their success. Congratulations to the entire Mt. SAC team on this incredible achievement in sustainable design!
We are thrilled to announce that the Mt. SAC gym and aquatics center in Walnut, California, has earned LEED Silver certification! This achievement underscores our commitment to sustainability and the positive impact we can have on our community. Adhering to the campus Climate Action Plan, the project prioritized sustainable strategies that benefit users' health, performance, education, and experience. We are excited to announce the groundbreaking of Mira Mesa Community Park, Phase II! 🌟👏 Phase II Improvements include: a new aquatic complex with 2 pools and a splash pad, an aquatic center building with a community room, expanded parking lot, new sidewalks and pedestrian plaza, bio-retention stormwater basins, two new children’s play areas, two new basketball courts that allow pickleball, passive use turf areas, renovation/upgrade of the existing recreation center, upgraded lighting, landscaping, and irrigation, a new all-wheels-friendly plaza, shade structure, and site furnishings.
