Today, OGS Commissioner Jeanette Moy joined Major General Ray Shields, the Adjutant General of New York State, New York State Senator Jacob Ashby, and Assemblymember Phil Steck to celebrate the completion of the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs modernization project at their headquarters in Latham. OGS was proud to manage the design and construction of this project, which included a new visitor reception and employee entrance, and security and building code compliance upgrades. Commissioner Moy: “When we stood here at the groundbreaking in August 2022, everyone at OGS knew that this was a special project. I say special, not only because the project was being done with one of our agency’s favorite customers, the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs, but because of the people whose hard work and dedication made all this possible. It starts with Governor Hochul, who has made it a priority to fund essential infrastructure projects.” Completing this work will help support the New York Army National Guard’s combat readiness and offer a welcoming space for the community and potential recruits while honoring the National Guard’s long and storied history of service to our state and nation. Thank you to all who worked so tirelessly to ensure the successful completion of this project. AOW CONSTRUCTION, LLC is excited to be renovating Steamboat Square. John Davi, Senior Project Manager, is leading the way and doing a great job coordinating 12 floors of work and an extensive site renovation including geothermal wells.
An informative and enjoyable tour yesterday of Steamboat Square here in Albany with my colleagues as we examined the renovation of the new geothermal heating and cooling system installed in this Albany Housing Authority building. Geothermal is one of many renewable energy options that is not visible but effective and efficient. As we continue to move away from fossil fuels we need a full range of options for renewable energy to ensure reliability and affordability and this project is a great example.
AOW CONSTRUCTION, LLC is proud to be part of this project bringing additional services to community. AOW’s Senior Project Manager Mario Tedesco did a great job on Phase 1 and we are confident Phase 2 and 3 will be equally impressive.
