🌟 The Power of Art to Inspire Change 🎨 I recently met Joya Korem, a Self-Direction Support Broker at the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, who is transforming lives through her work and creativity. Joya personally handed me her beautifully printed documentary photography book, “Let’s Break the Silence”, showcasing success stories of individuals with Autism. Her work celebrates resilience and possibility, using art to break barriers and foster understanding. To empower and uplift individuals to reach their fullest potential, resonates deeply with our mission at @Anchor Health.Joya Korem Joya’s story is a powerful reminder of how art can inspire, connect, and spark change. A Thanksgiving to Remember: A Follow-Up to Last Week’s Story Last week, I shared a video about one of our precious seniors, and I wanted to follow up with a heartfelt story that unfolded shortly after. This patient, who has no family nearby, called to share that she wouldn’t be able to celebrate Thanksgiving this year. Without the means to purchase a turkey, and with no one else around except her beloved caregiver—whom we had the privilege of matching with her over a year ago—she felt there wasn’t much to look forward to for the holiday. When I heard about her situation, I knew I had to act. Thanksgiving is about connection and gratitude, and I wanted her to experience that. So, I went to the butcher and picked out a beautiful turkey for her. When I arrived at her home with it, her reaction was overwhelming. The joy in her eyes, her gratitude, and the sheer disbelief that someone would do this for her—it was deeply moving. That moment reinforced everything we strive for at Anchor Health Home Care making a difference in the lives of our seniors and ensuring they feel valued and cared for. For me, this wasn’t just about delivering a turkey—it was about showing her that she’s not alone. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do and why our mission is so important. I hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving with your family and loved ones. Let’s continue to look for ways to make a difference in the lives of those around us—it’s often the smallest acts of kindness that have the biggest impact. #kindness #care #homecare

Transforming Lives, One Patient at a Time Working with OPWDD (Office for People With Developmental Disabilities) patients has been one of the most profound experiences of my career in the homecare industry. It’s not just about providing care—it’s about building trust, fostering independence, and being part of a community that uplifts others in their most vulnerable moments. Every patient I’ve met has taught me resilience, patience, and the power of connection. Their stories remind me why I chose this path: to make a difference where it matters most. These moments have reshaped my purpose, making it clear that homecare isn’t just a profession—it’s a calling. Each day, I’m reminded that care extends beyond physical needs; it’s about dignity, respect, and hope. I’m incredibly grateful to be part of an industry that allows me to witness and contribute to life-changing impacts, one person at a time at @Anchor Health. Let’s continue to innovate, inspire, and make every moment count for the communities we serve. To those considering a career in this space: your work will not just touch lives—it will transform your own. 📸 Picture from the 2024 Queens Council on Developmental Disabilities (QCDD) Family Support Resource Fair! #Homecare #PurposeDriven #MakingADifference #OPWDD #SpecialNeedsAnchor Health Home Care

Why Home Care is the Best Option for Aging Loved Ones in New York As our loved ones grow older, ensuring they receive the best care becomes a top priority. According to the New York State Department of Health, aging in place—staying in the comfort of one’s own home—is one of the most effective and compassionate ways to care for elderly patients. Home care offers personalized attention, fosters independence, and allows seniors to stay connected to their community and cherished memories. It’s not just about healthcare; it’s about dignity, familiarity, and preserving quality of life. Let’s continue to support and advocate for home care services, ensuring our elders receive the respect and care they deserve right where they feel most at home. What are your thoughts on the benefits of aging in place? Let’s discuss!
