A fun thing about my job at Ammobia is that I very occasionally get to transport hydrogen in my friend's truck. (Sometimes you run out just before Christmas and the vendor isn't delivering so you gotta get it yourself) 🛻💨
Ammobia is developing Haber Bosch 2.0 - a process for clean ammonia production. We leverage advances in materials science and catalysis to produce green ammonia at low cost. Our process and systems work across production scales, enabling ammonia as a clean chemical, fertilizer, and energy carrier for a decarbonized future Ammobia was founded by Karen Baert and Tristan Gilbert, recognized by Forbes 30 under 30 and supported by Starlight Ventures, Collaborative Fund, Arosa Capital, Chevron Technology Ventures and more

🌍⚡What is Ammonia's role in The Future of Green Shipping? 🚢🌿 In a recent article, Clarksons explores ammonia’s potential as a scalable fuel for shipping’s green transition. Unlike e-methanol and e-LNG, ammonia avoids reliance on biogenic CO2, making it a standout long-term solution. 🚀 The challenge? Engine tech and infrastructure are still catching up. 🔥 What will happen in the meantime? LNG and bio-LNG remain vital, offering immediate emission reductions as we prepare for ammonia’s big debut. What’s your take on ammonia’s role in maritime decarbonization? 🌊🛳️ Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gfreYS4t by Kenneth Tveter. #GreenShipping 🌿 #Sustainability 🌟 #FutureFuel 🌏 #Decarbonization

Based on current mature project announcements, In 2028 we will have ~30 Mtons/y of clean ammonia production and ~50+ ammonia-fueled ships in the water. Despite all the headwinds, the clean ammonia industry is moving. It is no longer a question of "if", it is a question of "when". Clean ammonia will be a major enabler in decarbonizing some of the hardest-to-abate sectors incl. deep-sea shipping, power and fertilizers. At Ammobia, we aim to contribute by enabling low cost clean ammonia production through our Haber-Bosch 2.0 - a low-capex, flexible ammonia technology. It was a joy to connect with professionals in ammonia across the world and represent Ammobia at the yearly Ammonia Energy Association conference in New Orleans together with Ian Kuhlenthal over the last days. Strong communities are built by great leaders - Shout-out and warm thank you to the relentless Ammonia Energy Association leadership Hans Vrijenhoef, Linda Menghetti Dempsey, Vibeke Rasmussen, Jakob Krummenacher, Trevor Brown, CFA, Rob Stevens and the broader team! Now all hands on deck! 🚢
Ammobia is proud to be selected for two Energywerx vouchers to accelerate the commercialization of our Haber Bosch 2.0 clean ammonia production technology! Looking forward to collaborating with new partners to decarbonize power, agriculture, transportation, and industry
📢 The latest Voucher Recipients have confirmed their partnerships with Voucher Providers—worth over $20M! Congratulations to the organizations that have been matched through DOE’s Voucher Program! The U.S. DOE Office of Technology Transitions, in collaboration with the Offices of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED), Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management | U.S. Department of Energy, and Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), previously announced that over 170 companies, tribes, and local governments will receive support to advance commercialization of clean energy technologies in the form of in-kind DOE-funded vouchers. The #VoucherProgram is designed to grant small businesses, local governments, and other non-traditional partners access to the vetted resources and expertise they need to bring their clean energy technologies and projects to the next level. In this recent round, the program offered 7 different Vouchers support across many capabilities ranging from testing facility access to trusted third-party subject matter expertise.
