Singer-songwriter and storyteller, Stefan Solea is a true representation of why the arts matter. “The arts allow us to express ourselves and celebrate our diverse identities. They inspire change and strengthen our communities, but access to them is not equal for everyone.” That’s why Americans for the Arts is committed to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to engage with the arts regardless of background. Your donation to Americans for the Arts helps us uplift countless voices and help future generations experience the joy and healing the arts provide just as they have done for Stefan. Together, we can strengthen communities through the arts. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/eifCYDfg

The arts support our military. Creative arts therapies rank in the top 4 treatments for the mental, physical, and moral injuries of war. Programs like Outer Banks Veterans Week use the arts to celebrate and heal Veterans and their families. In 2022, a staged reading of "Trying to Catch Amnesia" by Veteran and playwright Ron Capps highlighted the transformative power of storytelling. Organized by Dare Arts and Theatre of Dare, this event was part of a week-long celebration of Veterans through concerts, ceremonies, and more. Let’s honor those who serve by supporting the arts that serve them. Learn more at: DareArts.org/veterans

The arts heal. Nearly half of U.S. healthcare institutions use arts programs to improve outcomes like shorter hospital stays, better pain management, and less medication use. In Rhode Island, the State Council on the Arts is leading with projects like Butler Hospital’s "Re-Emerge and Renew," using artist residencies to boost staff wellness and integrate arts into care. Imagine if your doctor prescribed the arts—75% of Americans say they’d follow it. Let’s support creative solutions for healthier communities!
