The world’s first transfer RNA (tRNA) platform company. We are unlocking the vast therapeutic potential within #tRNA.
About us
Alltrna is the first transfer RNA (tRNA) platform company, and our mission is to unlock tRNA biology and pioneer tRNA therapeutics to regulate the protein universe and resolve disease. Founded at Flagship Labs in 2018, Alltrna has mapped tRNA biology to systematically design tRNA medicines and encode a completely new, unifying approach to treating both rare and common human diseases driven by shared genetic mutations. Alltrna’s platform combines internal expertise and proprietary machine learning tools to unlock the entire tRNA biology space. We have an unprecedented opportunity to advance a single tRNA medicine to restore disrupted protein production, regardless of target, for thousands of diseases with the same underlying genetic mutation.

Without tRNAs, we wouldn’t have proteins that carry out the functions of life. And when a tRNA can't do its job properly, due to mutations like premature termination codons, the resulting proteins might be incomplete and/or unable to function properly. Alltrna is developing medicines to rescue such proteins and restore function. In this informative interview with David Wild for the In Vivo Podcast, Alltrna CEO Michelle Werner explains how engineered tRNAs could transform the treatment landscape for rare diseases, and the company's journey to the clinic. 🌟 Congratulations to our CEO, Michelle Werner, for being named one of 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰’s #𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝟱𝟬 by FierceHealth and Fierce Life Sciences! 🌟 At Alltrna, under Michelle’s leadership, we are pioneering a bold approach using engineered tRNA to restore protein function, with the potential to unify the treatment of genetic diseases with the same mutation. It is this kind of visionary science, coupled with Michelle’s steadfast commitment to the rare disease community, that drives us to push boundaries and build a new future for patients. 🙌 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gBEHQeVe #tRNAmedicines #tRNA #rarediseases #raredisease #StopCodonDisease #geneticmedicines
I am honored to be recognized as one of 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰’𝘀 #𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝟱𝟬 by FierceHealth and Fierce Life Sciences. As many of you know, I am driven by a deep personal connection to doing better for patients – from my first position in cancer clinical trials to my son's diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy – I am committed to developing new medicines to improve the treatment of these devastating diseases. At Alltrna, we are pioneering a novel approach using engineered tRNA to restore protein function, with the potential to treat hundreds of genetic diseases with a single medicine. It is ambitious, it is challenging, but it is the kind of innovation that can truly transform lives. I am grateful for the support of the rare disease community, who inspire me daily with their resilience and determination. Together, we are going to keep driving progress and doing better for patients who have been underserved for far too long.

We are pleased to announce the presentation of the first preclinical data on AP003, our lead development candidate. The engineered tRNA from this drug candidate showed clinically meaningful protein restoration in Stop Codon Disease models of methylmalonic acidemia (MMA) and phenylketonuria (PKU). These data support the potential for a basket approach to developing AP003 to treat genetic liver diseases caused by an Arg-TGA premature termination codon.
