Key examples include the Toronto Green Standard and the CAGBC | Canada Green Building Council's Zero Carbon Building Standard. 💲 #BusinessBeyondBuzzwords: The past few years have been tough for real estate and proptech, forcing owners and founders to prioritize the bottom line and focus on ROI more than ever. Rationale for investing in sustainability is growing though with global premiums for green buildings becoming increasingly apparent in both leasing and pricing, energy efficiency delivering real cost savings, and innovative construction techniques proving to be faster and greener. ↗️ #OpportunitiesOfThreats: We should view challenges in the built environment as opportunities. Proptech will no doubt play a big role in bringing together stakeholders, streamlining processes, and integrating data from the earliest stages of design all the way through the operation of real estate.

It's a wrap! Last week at our LP & Portfolio Summit, we explored the current state of the #proptech market, took a deep dive into the growing role of #AI and the implications for our real estate industry, and heard from the founders of Doormat, Promise Robotics, and Mave. While there’s a lot of hype around generative AI, the consensus seems to be that it’s impact will be overestimated in the short-term and underestimated in the long-term.
