Putting Atmospheric CO2 to Work
About us
Aircapture is creating a circular commercial carbon economy utilizing novel Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. Our modular, on-site DAC machines capture CO2 from the atmosphere and make it immediate available for our customers' production processes. The result is a cheaper, cleaner and greener supply of CO2. Previously, commercially available CO2 was produced and distributed only in ways that generate large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions, result in product impurities and include the often-substantial friction costs from transportation. For every tonne of delivered CO2, we estimate two or more tonnes of CO2 are emitted into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming and creating significant supply chain emissions, the cost of which are likely to materially increase. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions alone is not enough to avoid catastrophic climate change. Atmospheric carbon dioxide removal addresses legacy emissions and drives the development of critical, sustainable carbon-negative infrastructure. By utilizing atmospheric CO2, we can actually turn back the hands of time – reversing much of the damage that has already been done – while enabling our customers to economically build new carbon-to-value industries and alleviate energy poverty on a global scale. Our mission is to use Direct Air Capture (DAC) to help achieve these goals. DAC can be sited practically anywhere. There are no natural or technical limits to its scale, the quantity of carbon dioxide it removes is verifiable and it is cost-effective today.

Over two years ago, we powered up our first DAC machine and began capturing CO₂ directly from the air, here in Berkeley, CA. Now, we’re excited to share a major milestone: we recently passed our first ISBT verification test, achieving an impressive 99.998% purity in our liquid CO₂, surpassing the requirements for beverage-grade CO₂. This exceptional level of purity makes our CO₂, sourced directly from the atmosphere via our modular DAC machines, ideal for industries like food and beverage, where quality is paramount. With our machines on-site, customers have immediate access to CO₂ when and where they need it, all while meeting and exceeding strict purity standards. #DAC #ISBT #CircularCarbonEconomy #ClimateSolutions

On December 9, our COO Michael Vyvoda, spoke at the "Operation as a CleanTech Startup" panel at the EIC/INSEAD CleanTech Innovation Forum. During this panel, he shared actionable strategies for EU innovators entering the US market, covering: - Best practices for running a cleantech startup in the US. - Securing funding sources through VCs, grants, and CVCs. - Advancing from R&D to pilots and commercialization. - How to build efficient, scalable teams for early-stage growth. Special thank you to INSEAD lead, Victoria (Vic) Woo, Ph.D., and panel moderator Molly Wood. #DirectAirCapture #AirCapture #CleanTech #Innovation

We all know CO₂ is driving climate change. At Aircapture, we’re taking real action to change that. Through our partnership with 44.01 in the UAE, we’re capturing CO₂ from the air and permanently storing it in rock—right now. This innovation is no longer in the distant future; it’s a practical solution for decarbonization, happening today. #DAC #XPRIZE #Aircapture #CDR
