This year, I visited 10 of America’s top AI hubs with The GenAI Collective, hosting events that brought people together to discuss not just what’s happening in AI, but why it matters. From these gatherings, 5 key lessons emerged: 1️⃣ 2024 wasn’t the “Year of AI Agents” – it was the year of infrastructure. Foundational progress set the stage, but 2025 will be when agents move from theory to practice and start reshaping our workflows. 2️⃣ Community is the foundation of innovation. When we learn, connect, and elevate one another, we unlock collective potential that benefits not just individuals but entire tech ecosystems. 3️⃣ San Francisco’s unique bubble fuels audacity. The sheer density of events and ideas sparks transformative breakthroughs, though it comes with challenges of insularity. 4️⃣ Every city brings something distinct to the table. Whether it’s Boston’s biotech focus or Chicago’s finance expertise, local cultures shape AI in diverse and meaningful ways. 5️⃣ And yet, we’re all asking the same big questions. From career uncertainty to post-work life, these universal concerns tie us together and remind us that progress is ultimately a human endeavor. I don’t think any of us expected these conversations to grow beyond this intimate setting. And in many ways, it hasn’t! Yes, this group of friends has grown a little in size and heart, but the passion and purpose remains the same! This community was founded on the belief that the most meaningful connections are made when exploring a shared curiosity together, and that meaningful relationships lead to meaningful outcomes. Incredibly inspired after participating on Miami's first GenAI Collective AI Agents Demo Night! 🌟 What a privilege to witness seven remarkable startups showcase their AI innovations. The room was buzzing with excitement, and for good reason - every single presentation pushed the boundaries of what's possible with AI technology. Major congratulations to the winners: • Fashion.ai by Leonardo Leão for Best Idea - fascinating approach to revolutionizing fashion through AI • Go Arlo by Warren C. for Best Demo - their presentation was absolutely captivating! Beyond the awards, what struck me most was the incredible sense of community in the room. As someone passionate about AI innovation, it was refreshing to connect with like-minded individuals and see firsthand how Miami's tech ecosystem is flourishing. "I came, I saw, and I cleaned up!" – First The GenAI Collective 🤖 Meetup in #Toronto🍁 hosted by Chappy Asel, Director, with sponsor Leah Elizabeth Morris from Radical Ventures! And yes, I cleaned up literally after the meeting, but more importantly, cleaned up big time with connections and learnings!
