About us

AIA Seattle provides the architecture community with resources and relationships to make a difference through design. We open doors, provide connections, keep our members and the public informed, and demonstrate our commitment to great design as the key ingredient for livable, sustainable places. aiaseattle.org The 5th largest urban chapter of the American Institute of Architects, AIA Seattle is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, membership service organization. Founded in 1894, AIA Seattle is comprised of over 2,400 architects and allied professionals throughout the Puget Sound region. AIA Seattle membership is open to anyone with a professional or personal interest in architectural practice, and in the creation or appreciation of the built environment. In 2011, AIA Seattle founded the Seattle Design Festival, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to celebrate all the ways that design makes life better for Seattle. The Seattle Design Festival is the largest design-related event in the Northwest. seadesignfest.org In 2015, AIA Seattle partnered with Seattle Architecture Foundation, Seattle Design Festival, and AIA Washington Council to create the Center for Architecture & Design. Now is a great time to focus on our local community in Washington: provide input on the Comp Plan by Friday; mark your calendar for March 3 to advocate in Olympia at Capitol Connections; and join your local neighborhood review board. All this and more in this month's Advocacy Update. https://lnkd.in/d4kk3cwy
