#cosmexperience oh what a night! The evolution of AAREP LA has been a movie! A throwback special thank you to the hashtag #NextGen-led Board of Directors (2017-2020) for laying groundwork by operationalizing our processes, paving the way for the explosive growth that followed. What A Night! Not only a night of celebrating an amazing 2024 but a monumental board transition for AAREP LA. Last week, we held our 3rd Annual Sneaker Ball @COSM in Inglewood and the night was one for the books. I joined @AAREP LA in 2018 and took on the role of President, assisting in building a great foundation of Board of Directors, while implementing policies and procedures and building relationships for the organization. I couldn't have asked for a better group of professionals to network with and grow with, professionally and personally. 2025/2026 fosters a new Executive Board and Board of Directors and I am so proud and excited for the new talent coming along. Congratulations to All! Lynn King-Tolliver, Garland F., Daria Walker, Kelsey Chine, CCRM, CPM Candidate, Odest T Riley Jr. Janae Hilliard Dr. Frederick W. James Daughrity, SIOR, James Malone, Muriel Aubry Thompson, Esq. Kudos to Kimberly Brown for taking AAREP LA2.0 to new heights! #aarepla #aarepstrong #cre #blackcre #credevelopment #crecommunity #affordablehousing #blackexcellence #losangeles #IE #assetmanagement #propertymanagement

💐Take a bow President-Emeritus Kimberly Brown
Honored to be featured in the Los Angeles Sentinel - one of the nation’s oldest and most respected Black-owned newspapers. This article captures my passion for #community building, leadership, and creating lasting impact in #LosAngeles as I transition into the next leg of my race. Grateful for the opportunities to serve, innovate, and collaborate—and excited to focus on preserving affordability through the production and acquisition of much-needed #housing in our great city. Thank you to the LA Sentinel team - Pamela Bakewell | Danny Bakewell Jr., and the talented Myko Lyric for so gracefully capturing my story. And to everyone who has supported me on this 35-year journey in commercial real estate, words are inadequate... The Marathon continues🏁 Link to digital article in the comments👇🏾

📢Let me note to you👇🏾 "Instead of selling it, a Black family with deep roots in #SouthLA chose to hold on to a property they’ve owned for decades and develop it themselves into a $24-million apartment and retail building." "In keeping a seat at the table, they are bucking the norms for how #development in L.A. typically is done, in which owners sell to outside developers looking to capitalize on the rising fortunes of once-neglected historic #neighborhoods."
