Atlanta Metropolitan Area Civil Defense (our original agency) honored then Governor Jimmy Carter with a Distinguished Service Award. As President, he established FEMA, giving the agency the dual mission of emergency management & civil defense. Now, it’s time to honor him again.

This year, Donnie Reece received a Customer Service Distinguished Legend and Customer Service Legend Award from Fulton County Government and the Department of Registration and Elections for his work on WebEOC. The Department of Registration and Elections nominated Donnie for the Customer Service Legend Award. They expressed their highest appreciation for his exceptional development of that system and stated that "it is an invaluable tool that significantly streamlines communication on election days and transforms the way they interact with poll workers and voters." WebEOC has become indispensable in their efforts to deliver smooth and successful elections. WebEOC provides real-time updates and efficient coordination which makes their operations more responsive, effective and allows them tailored solutions that address their unique challenges. The second award, the Customer Service Distinguished Legend Award, is awarded to those Customer Service Legends who have not only provided 5-star service but who have consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty in providing service to our customers.  

This weekend we participated in the MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) Full-Scale Exercise. These exercises are a true test of multi-agency responses and coordination.

AFCEMA supported the Presidential Election, in the Unified Incident Command Post and at our EOC, ensuring the entire process was safe during all phases of the election, and all public safety incidents had coordinated response throughout Fulton County.

We are proud to support the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Move Day of over 200 patients to their new facility, the Arthur M. Blank Hospital!

Though our activation has wound down, we continue to monitor, and support the recovery within Fulton County.

Overnight and through the day, we continue our activation, coordination, and response to the impacts of Hurricane Helene across Fulton County. Throughout the county, water rescues are still ongoing, and crews are actively working to clear trees and powerlines.

We continue to monitor and prepare for Hurricane Helene, at both our Emergency Operations Center downtown and at our logistics warehouse in southern Fulton County.

One of the best parts about being at Juvare is seeing the creativity that our clients bring to our platform to solve really important problems. Battalion Chief Donnie Reece from the Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency is an example. He and his team used #WebEOC to ensure real-time monitoring, wait time management, and seamless logistical coordination during elections. They were confident in providing accurate and timely information in a heavily contested election, bolstering Georgia's reputation as a state that has it's act together.
