🌼This #TeamMemberTuesday, we celebrate AdventHealth Winter Garden's Registered Nurse Kathryn Wach, who was named a DAISY Award recipient for serving as an as outstanding role model in the nursing community. Katie was nominated by a friend of a patient who was undergoing a procedure that brought her anxiety and fear, due to its sudden necessity and potential complications. The patient’s friend left a raving review of Katie in her nomination. Here’s an excerpt: “In a display of extraordinary empathy, Katie shared her personal experiences with a similar surgery, bridging the gap between nurse and patient through her own vulnerability. This act of sharing not only soothed my friend's fears, but also instilled a deep sense of trust and comfort, affirming that she was in capable hands … The impact of Katie's care was profound.” Way to go, Katie, for your unwavering compassion, clinical expertise and personal touch.

In partnership with Rothman Orthopaedics and U.S Anesthesia Partners, our AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute participated in Operation Walk USA, a program held each December that enables orthopedic surgeons and hospitals around the country to provide free joint replacement surgeries to qualifying, uninsured patients who can’t afford them. Since 2011, Operation Walk USA has been restoring mobility from coast to coast and giving qualifying patients a renewed quality of life through extraordinary humanitarian efforts. To date, the program has provided free joint replacements to more than 900 patients through surgeries valued at more than $24.6 million. If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, please reach out to: OpWalk@AdventHealth.com. https://lnkd.in/eaMyhhcN
