Yesterday, Advantous Consulting’s Jason DeCuir had the privilege of presenting the 2024 Louisiana Tax Reform Package to the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce. Thank you to the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce for hosting us. It is always nice to spend some time in the Rice Capitol of the World.

The newly promulgated rules for Louisiana's Industrial Tax Exemption Program (ITEP) have officially been published in the December 2024 register. Advantous' specialized team of state and local tax experts played a significant role throughout the rules drafting process, working with Louisiana Economic Development and members of the Board of Commerce and Industry to improve and streamline the program. Yesterday, Jason DeCuir had the privilege of moderating a panel at the Bayou Region Joint Networking Luncheon and connecting with members of the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, Thibodaux Chamber Of Commerce, and LAFOURCHE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, as well as South Central Industrial Association. Joined by expert panelists Steven Procopio (PAR Louisiana) and Barry Erwin (CABL), the discussion provided valuable perspectives on Louisiana's recent Special Session and the future of tax reform in Louisiana. Congratulations on such a successful luncheon! We look forward to future events. 

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has proposed significant changes to the sales and use tax regulations regarding data processing. Proposed amendment to Rule §3.330 expands the definition of data processing services to include computerized entry, retrieval, search or storage of data, and provides examples of taxable services to include SEO, social media marketing and lead generation.
