Day 9 of 31 Days of Gratitude: If the theme of these posts isn’t clear, I want to make sure that I provide some context. Every one of these featured people is a giver, authentic and go out of their way to make the world a better place. If you haven’t been to a PurposeDriven.Coffee or a Best Lunch Ever and had the chance to meet or be in the presence of Mick White I highly encourage you to attend one in 2025. I can’t believe it hasn’t even been a year since attending my first PDC last January. I went having just changed jobs for the 3rd time in 4 years (way more turnover than I ever had but the COVID business environment definitely had a lot to do with turnover). I wasn’t sure what to expect but I knew I needed to start building a network and had to rebuild my brand. All I had known of networking at that time was BNI, which was so out of my comfort zone. PDC had shown up multiple times in my LinkedIn feed so what the heck, we will give it a chance! I am so glad I did because the environment Mick and Brian created was the exact opposite of BNI, they created an environment where people became human and got to know each other on a compassionate level. Fast forward, over the last year I have gotten to know Mick at a personal level and become good friends! Our kids have hung out on boat cruises together and trust in each other’s advice. Mick is one of the most generous people with his time, authentic in sharing his story and has a gift for connecting great humans with great humans. Not only that but helping coach people from what they think they should be and truly step into their own greatness. Appreciate you my friend! Check out a PDC or Best Lunch Ever if you haven’t. In tears last night before getting into bed, my 9 year old son Macallister said to me... "Dad, I wish you were younger." And, I knew exactly what he meant. As a 49 year old dad of a 9 year old son, I get it. He doesn't want me to die. I'm well aware that when he's my age, I likely won't be on this earth. So, we talked for a little bit last night about making the most of our moments together. That life isn't about money, but about people.
