Grading during major examinations like final exams is better done as group marking. This way participants may not be overwhelmed or burnout during grading. In the same time mistakes or the possibility of answers not graded might be minimized. Assigning questions to be marked by different individuals within a script would definitely lead to comfort.So group marking is certainly one method that might be motivating and helpful in minimizing fatigue.

A great strategy that I have used many times to help me avoid burn out when I am swamped with grading is leveraging help from my students. If I have assignments I know my students can handle grading, I will have students grade themselves using established rubrics and answer keys. I will even sometimes give students the opportunity to grade each other if I can guarantee that the assignments and grading can stay anonymous. When I do allow my students to grade, I will actively monitor and answer any questions students may have. Allowing students to grade themselves and others affords them the opportunity to self assess, apply what they have learned in a novel way, and take responsibility for their education.
