A very typical and real-time global problem we face far too many times. One of the approaches we take in such cases is to kick-start the meeting at the most feasible earliest slot for US / LATAM (6.30-7 AM if they are required). It means, the slot will be reasonably late for APAC / Japan, and that's a compromise both APAC & LATAM team makes in the best interest of the team.

I've been working online worldwide since 2012 so I have experienced different challenges as meetings organizer or as Member/participant in others. In both cases the focus, its importance in our agendas and the audience/clients, goals to achieve after them, context, activity length, adaptability and tools are some of the crucial points to have in mind. It's not the same in 1/1 than in global groups and in open audience activities. Each one of these option has Pros & Cons.
