My answer is 'I' don't. Marketing has their tricks. Which with this question it is implied they have run out of. While I do consider myself a creative solutions type of person, my scope is limited. So my answer is my team's answer. I always try and empower my team to bring me their ideas. A great example is a proposal from a teammate not too long ago. We had just this scenario with an item and we all believed it was a solid item and had potential to do amazing numbers. Unfortunately, no one seemed to be noticing it. Then while walking with my team one evening, I posed the question" how do we capture the sales on this item we know it can do?" That teammate piped up and fired off the most simplistic and way out of the box answer.
