Una comunicación abierta con el cliente al inicio de un proyecto de consultoría, depende de dos factores esenciales. El primero es la atención detallada y profesional al tema central que generó inicialmente la necesidad de la consultoría. Ya sea un tema estratégico, operativo, de gobierno, financiero o de cualquier otra naturaleza, la comunicación abierta es necesaria para que las acciones que se diseñen tengan el impacto esperado. Sin comunicación el foco puede perderse y la consultoría corre el riesgo de ser inefectiva. El segundo factor es la confianza entre las personas, que exista empatía y confianza del cliente en la experiencia y la capacidad del equipo consultor. Ambos factores impulsan naturalmente la comunicación.

In order to have an open communication with new clients the first step for me will be to listen to them and understand their needs. To try to be useful form the moment we are listening to them will be a powerful tool to determine how we can add value to our relationship.

Give the feeling to your customer that you are more of an implementor than a mere consultant. Expect your revenues only after your client gets a business benefit. Yes it would take time but charge only your actual costs till your ideas are implemented and business starts seeing the revenue benefit. This way your relationship will last for more time.

Make it clear that their input is valued and that your role is to collaborate, not dictate. Then I always ensure I make regular check-ins and create feedback loops. In consulting, it's more than just having the right answers; it’s about the whole process: - understanding the context and needs - identifying the problems and attaining clarities about objectives, pain points, and methodologies - brewing them all into the analysis to churn out the answers - making those well-thought answers resonate with clients in a meaningful way - gaining alignments and approval towards effective execution and implementation. Yet, navigating through industry jargon, processing complexity of data, varying cultures, and diverse communication styles can pose significant challenges. Key to communication: 1. Clarity. Clear articulation of thoughts, feedbacks, proceas, and expectations. 2. Client's engagements and buy-in.
