Na minha experiência em automotiva e com vários fornecedores de componentes, pricipalmente componentes de motores, que por sua vez já são bem mais precisos que outros do resto do veículo, um bom começo é verificar o processo do fornecedor, seus controles, procedimentos, carta CEP, suas certificações, principalmente ISO (IATF16949), seus fornecedores de matéria prima e também para quem mais ele fornece, mesmo antes de passar o projeto para ele e ter as primeiras amostras para teste. Assim sendo, saberá se ele será capaz ou não de lhe fornecer com a qualidade, volulme e custo dentro do esperado em projeto.
